£108 to fit the water pump when all the necessary bits had already been removed...
Covers and cambelt etc.

Either they charge well in excess of £200ph or They saw you coming!!!

I suspect they saw you coming.

Thanks for all your replies. At this stage I have only telephoned for a quote; I haven't as yet had the belt or pump fitted. If anyone around Bury, Bolton knows of a good garage, I would be very interested to know. Thanks again, Barry

In my local car workshop last week when the manager came in and said to the mechanic " we have a sincha coming in Roy. Can you deal with it?"

When I asked what a sincha was I was told it was a customer rang up to say

" sincha did the service the "............." has been wrong" etc.

Well, it made me laugh!
Years ago I worked with a salesman, he came in one day after selling a high end car and said to us.... Man, I love 'dinky's'...... I asked what was 'dinky's'? ..... He said...
"Double income, no kids yet" ...... Made me laugh too.
His commission cheque that month was worth getting !
