Picking up my Motorhome next week, was just thinking about the cam belt.

It's an early 2005, so I would assume a 2004 model Fiat 2.3 Turbo Diesel.

Cam belt or chain? anyone know the service time for the cam belt? there is 21k on the clock, but it's 6 years old now, does it need changed?

thanks

Should be a belt, and I would change it every 3 years - even if the interval is longer. Better to be safe than sorry when considering the consequences.

Always change tensioners, water pump etc at the same time. If not, Murphys' Law will dictate that a pump or tensioner will go shortly after a nice new tight belt is put on, meaning the while thing has to be done again. Around £160 - 260 is the rough area cost wise. Use genuine parts.

Thanks, don't suppose you know what the interval is?
72000 OR 4 YEARS
Your water pump is driven by the same belt and as already stated tensioners MUST be changed at the same time
