My 2015 Swift Escape has X2 Calor Gas bottles in the locker. When swapping them out as I remove the hose from the bottle it tends to leave in the bottles receiver a black rubber bung/seal. I then have to pull it out by means of a key or screwdriver etc so I can place it back on the hose to put in the new bottle.

This has overtime stretched it and caused a slight tear in it so the seal is not as good and I had to add PTFE tape to the thread so avoid a slight leak last time.

I have been scouring the internet and even my local caravan shop to find a replacement but to no avail. Anyone know of this bit of rubber with a hole in it and where I can get one? I should have taken a picture but don't want to pull it out just for that purpose now as its on a new bottle and nicely sealed.

If you using Butane then it is / was a regulator sealing washer and should be freely available. Alternatively change to Propane - no seal & no slow down in cold weather.

Guess you've got a handwheel on yours and don't need to tighten a nut with a gas spanner?
Forgot about those. It's possible that the maker expects the pigtail hose to be out of date before the washer fails?

If it is one of the handwheel ones you can get the seals here but I would change the pigtail.

I think we are suggesting you change to the pigtail without a washer and tighten with a spanner.

The only reason I said that is we have a friend who has the same type and he was always having problems with it sealing. He used to carry spare washers with him, even changed his hose,Once he had to take a bottle back and change it which seemed a bit strange but it worked!

What sort of money are people paying for them? I phoned Swift and they said £45+vat. I imagine a dealer saying similar. Tons on eBay for £15 mark but the thought of eBay and gas scares me.
