Length cell only applicable if is made of x paralel and 4series. That’s with cylindrical cells of smaller capacity of the bank, to make up the capacity. Like 10 5ah cells for a 50ah battery times four in series. With prismatic cells of 50ah each and four in series, you only need balancers, and over voltage/ under voltage AT CELL LEVEL. So if one cell is out it shuts the bank.
Now if each battery has its own bms, it will look after its own battery, the less cells to control the better, as the drift will be narrow. You can parallel as many as you like, but for safety of current, four would be my limit.
Victron, on their superpack edition with bms inside no coms, same as ultramax, it says parallel unlimited.
