My good friend and next door neighbour died earlier this year after a long struggle with cancer.
He was a great radio enthusiast for many years and had a comprehensive collection of kit.
His widow is now preparing to move to somewhere smaller and I’ve volunteered to help clear his 'shack'.
I have no idea what the value of his kit is but I do know it’s far too good to give away or take to the tip.
I have made a list of most of his gear and taken some photos so if some of you good folk could give me some idea of value it would be a great help.
She is quite elderly and not in great health so doesn’t want folk calling and knocking on the door so if anyone wants to make a decent offer to take the lot it would help her.

The kit:-
Yaesu HF/50mhz transceiver FT DX3000
MFJ-993 Auto Antenna. Tuner
Time Step Weather Satellite Interface 12.0
Time Wave DJP-599zx
Yaesu FT-1000 D HF/VHF/UHF All Mode Tranceiver
Daiwa DC Power Supply
Kenwood SP-230 speaker
Aku WAi Wave Meter
Plus lots of switches, cables and things I have no clue about.

Jaws or gozomike will have a good idea.
Wouldn’t mind the Yaesu FTdx3000 myself but don’t think I can afford it.

Cannot take the lot but I would be interested in the MFJ-993 Auto Antenna. Tuner for £150

Thanks for that John.
We would ideally like to sell the lot in one go. Someone comes and disconnects and takes the whole shebang, cables and accessories.
If that proves to be impossible I’ll keep you in mind.

Looking at prices online there could be quite a bargain for someone who perhaps wants to make an offer and then sell on what they don’t want for themselves.

Richard.

You could try contacting these people www.radioworld.co.uk as they sell a lot second hand stuff. However, you will probably have to deliver to them somehow.

The best prices are probably going to be raised by putting it on eBay but I can understand this is more hassle. As already suggested, it could be worth up to £3K.

My radio club has an annual bring and buy sale but it was held a few months ago and attendance was well down compared to previous years.

As DBK mentioned.
An email to Radioworld and some pictures cant do any harm, it will be lower than selling seperate but a chance to sell all in one go and cash in the bank. Worst case you will have maybe the lowest valuation of what its all worth.
May need you to travel and deliver but could cover your time and costs if its a decent amount.

Or look up any other radio dealers nearer to your location.

I am slowly working my way though it all.. Sadly a lot of it had problems ( minor ones but this kit was not for the newbee or technically just starting out )
Its all coming back to full life and once I am happy a lot of the kit will be up for grabs ( all separately )

Tis time.. The last item has been fully serviced and checked..
Should I put the items on this thread as well as the classified section ? ( DBK ,tonka , Ralph-n-Bev . Relic )

Subscribers  do not see these advertisements

OK.. I will get busy doing pictures etc.. Should start getting them on here either later today or tomorrow

Here is the list.. No details as it would end up being a 4 page post, and I am reserving that for individual adverts
