We just heard from our friend and will stop with him (well on his drive) on Wednesday night. I've booked us into the CC site at Culloden Moor for Monday and Tuesday nights. I wanted to go to Rosemarkie but refuse to pay the £60+ for two nights - and that is with the age concession.
Don't know if you've been before but if not, a word of warning - quite a few of the pitches at Culloden are VERY sloping both front-to-back and side-to-side. A trip to the battlesite is well worth it and for many is within walking distance.

Useful advice. We were going to cycle to the battle site and if it is a nice day maybe on into Inverness.

If it's not a nice day, the bus into Inverness is very do-able.
The battlesite has a good cafe, a gift-type shop and an interactive theatre/activities (we did not partake) and you can walk all round the site and get a measure of what happened where - it's very well presented.

Our funny neighbours go several times a year as they are rabid Jacobites. However he still accepted his MBE and when Martin asked why he accepted it with his views on the present royal family being usurpers he had this very long and complex reason why it was okay to accept an honour !!!!

I had ancestors on both sides - as many families did.

Any chance we can get the coordinates, my navigator tends to be a bit silent

The above says not to follow sat nav.

Anyone joining us later will find us in the Fortrose area. We are heading to park up in the leisure centre then to around Cromarty later today. Just post a reply.

Also 3 vans have booked a day trip to Orkney on Monday. 2 for highlights one for full day. Anyone else fancy it?

There are so few of us now left for this meet ..A few of us have decided we will only be staying until Monday then moving to John Ogroats and after a day trip to Orkney onwards for part of the NC500.

Nicole's place will still be available for anyone wishing to stop for the week and use it as a base or tag along as we visit some lovely beaches etc.

I followed those directions on Google Maps & the coordinates it gave me are 58.325625, -3.201351
What format does your Sat Nav take?

If Street View is to be believed, that sign should say Hill o' Many Stanes.
