Hi all, as anyone experienced a problem with the ignition switch on the cadac safari 30 compact cooker?.

The cadac safari chef 2 could be temperamental I just used a gas igniter. Have just replaced the chef 2 with the compact 30, looks the same, just a name change.

Yes.

They get bent out of shape.
I simply added a chief's lighter to the kit.

Yes, it was the wires underneath on mine that were damaged/broken with the folding away of the kit. I bought a generic replacement off e bay for a few quid came to fit it and while jiggling the wires on the old one it worked again so now have a spare but just use a gas wand its the KISS solution!

Yes - on our most recent trip to France/Spain our Cadac ignition switch simply wouldn't light the gas. At all. I could see the spark but it wasn't igniting. Ended up using more traditional method of matches which of course worked fine and next time I will take the little gas igniter with us. No issues with the Cadac itself in terms of cooking, just the ignition switch.

Another yes from me, broke just out of warranty so just used a gas lighter, use one for the cooker in the van anyway!
