Does anyone know if you can just take a flexible hose to the Cadac from an external gas point.

The external gas point will be fed after the regulator fitted onto the MoHo.

I ask as I'm sure I read not to use two regulators with the Cadac, or I may of dreamt it o_O

Thanks

We "plug" ours into our external Bulffinch connection. Your other option would be to connect directly to your gas cylinder with an appropriate regulator, bit of a faff though.

The bullfinch has its own connector to the BBQ and is also the "on-off" tap, when it goes through the 90 deg's to put it in.

Thanks for the replies.

I probably didn't explain properly.

The Bullfinch will be plumbed into the solid pipework after the vans regulator.

So can I just run the flexible pipe from the Bullfinch straight into the Cadac without another regulator?

Rubber gas hose one end connected to the Bullfinch connector and the other to the Cadac connector.

Rubber gas hose one end connected to the Bullfinch connector and the other to the Cadac connector.

Im guessing the Cadac end is just a threaded fitting with the ribbed connection for the hose.

I haven't got the Cadac yet hence all the questions.
I want to get all the bits together and sorted and fitted before Newbury :D

This might help. Just ignore the references to regulator as you'll be fitting a Bullfinch instead.

The Cadac connector on ours is a "quick fit" which is tightened by hand (no spanner needed). You'll need a length of 8mm rubber gas approved hose and I also used a couple of appropriate jubilee clips (one for either end).

Get a quick release connector, which is a push fit.Broken Link Removed

As you assume, the bbq end is a ribbed hose connector with a nut which screws onto the gas block of the bbq. Only needs a nip with a spanner, don't overtighten it.
The other end will have a ribbed connector which is part of whatever outlet valve type you have.

The bullfinch type adaptor is, in my opinion, the best as it contains a rotary ball, like a washing machine tap, which is turned open or closed by the adaptor as its turned through 90°. Each time it's turned the seal wipes the ball.

The other type, push tube, has a spring loaded ball which is displaced off it seat by the tube when pushed in. There's always the possibility of a piece of grit etc stopping the ball reseating after use causing a gas leak in the valve.
That's why they are fitted with a tap (where-as the bullfinch doesnt), if you remember to turn it off.
