Really impressed with both the town and the campsite.
Every pitch has it's own PRIVATE bathroom with shower and loo and own water supply and table and chairs. Great meal in the bar - 3 courses with drink for 15 euros. Free use of Spa and gym. Stay 4 nights pay for 3. ACSI rate 17 euros.
Went into Caceres town this morning, what a fabulous place especially the old town. Visited a couple of museums - both free. Well impressed, and best of all we've got sunshine. :sun:

Never leave a campsite with your clothes line tied to a lamp post.
We totally agree regarding Caceres and the camp site. The old town square is lovely and rather unusual as it slopes so much. A very nice place to sit with a glass and watch the world go by...........Where are you off to next?

Now on our list for next year, muchas gracias and please keep that sort of up to date info coming if you have time. We know the area well but didn't know anything about that campsite, brilliant(y)

Hi @The Dude

Thanks for the info, we were heading to Caceres tomorrow and we're going to use the Aire, do you know anything about it, good bad or indifferent.

Just in Salamanca tonight.

2009 previously a tugger for thirty years
We stayed at the Aire the other December then again on our way back from Portugal the following March very busy both times we stayed. Hard standing and free services I.E water waste etc, only downside really is that its an uphill walk into the old town centre no views from the aire really but quiet at night.

We were there at beginning of January. It's ok but does get full early. There is additional parking adjacent which we have used twice with no problem so don't know if there a possibility of being moved on. 15 minute walk uphill to the town.

Last March we stopped a couple of nights in Salamanca, then drove on to Careres to stay at the Aire. We got there at about 1 pm and by then the Aire was full and people were starting to park ion the adjacent bus station. Not good, so we drove on to Marvao just over the Portuguese border. Lovely little Aire there.

El Roccio next for a couple of days then down to Tarifa. Expecting it to get warmer by the mile.
