Cabin Filter, Fiat Ducato 2.3. [2019] (2 Viewers)

Hello, I hoping someone can offer some advice. I have located it whereabouts, [ hidden behind the central cup holder binnacle ]. Unfortunately, I'm struggling releasing the outer shell. Being a bit, heavy handed , I really don't want to tug at it to much. I have released 2 x T25 torque screws in the top of it, but am unable to see any others, yet it won't release. I can get it to partially release on the clips at the top as well, but just cannot see how the bottom lets go. I'll have another look tomorrow in some decent light, but a gentle nudge in the right direction would help. I did find a partially helpful video on how to change the filter, but the video started with the front plates already removed .

Its seems a bit soon to be changing that filter- How many miles have you done?

By the way its a pig and harder than you'd think. Avoid until its really necessary.

Oh, yes probably not ready for a change yet, but it's more of a "just for completeness task" having done all the other ones.
The reputation of the job proceeded it, but it's sort of putting off the inevitable not getting to know how it's done. More blood sweat and tears tomorrow.

That looks much easier than the earlier versions I've changed.

Job done. It took longer putting back the bit's removed in error on my part. From scratch it would take about 30m. There is a bit of squeezing into the gap between the seats involved. I don't have any additional wiring behind the panel, so that might have made it easier as well.
Although not filthy, there was some crud in the filter.

Cant Imagine a dealership going to all that trouble to replace a filter, if they did can you imagine the labour costs?
What a stupid design to have to remove all that lot to get a consumable product, much easier to just tick the box with a biro to say its been checked and found OK.
Glad you manged to get it done though BouncyBoatFolk, its taught us all what's involved, and maybe when its better to consider changing the van.

Taking all those bolts out it's a wonder the front of the van did not fall off.

When i refitted mine (took more than 30 min) the door fitted better than previously. Its not only ducato s with this prolem.at 2 yrs 5000 mles it "didnt need doing now "
I had a passat with 150k on clock full service history all ticks in box. Air con probs Blower died so took it to a specialist .he said i should change the cabin filter a bit more often, it was thc original, .
