Getting there!
It seems my cab battery has given up, should have known as the starting has been sluggish on our last couple of outings.

It currently has a Platinum Prestige 12V 90Ah/800A CCA 019E

The dealer has agreed to change under warranty but to save me driving to them and wasting half a day would cover costs for a mobile battery fitter to do the job upto £100 ish.

The mobile fitter has quoted £120 for an equivalent battery by Banner, never heard of them so was wondering if anyone has experience with Banner batteries?

banner batteries are rubbish, stick with yuasa, exide or lucas with a good warranty.

I have asked the battery fitters for another option based on the comments above, many thanks.

I think yuasa is the brand the dealer would fit, assume they are better?

Our cab battery gave up the ghost a few months back and after a good scout around reviews I went for an Exide Premium as they had good reviews and the price for them was cheaper that the equivalent from other manufactures.

Fitter just rang me and said they might be able to get the same battery as the one coming out, should anything be this difficult lol

I was under the assumption that the Fiat Ducato battery was a 017TE not the smaller and less capacity 017E

This the battery I recently fitted in ours.

019 when I use reg number online and that’s also what it currently has.

Funny how opinions change.
It's not that long ago everyone was singing the praises of Banner batteries, now they're in the same class as dog turds

I always thought Banner were quality.

My battery had a sluggish turnover so took it to the dealer he said that he could not change it under warranty (had the van 3 months) left it with them for 3 days I told them that I though that it had a dead cell. They rang today to say that they had fitted a new battery FOC ?
Collecting van tomorrow will check on the make. The service manager said that when he joined the company they had been fitting wrong batteries and that each vehicle had a specific battery. Hopefully my new one has good amperage.

If you go by price Yuasa looks good value 95 amp £129 1568919552750.jpeg

Would appear to contradict many Funsters but I've never had issues with Banner either cab or hab. Sold them for0 many years and 2 lead acid hab batteries stillgood after5 years. Austrian produced.

We only fit Yuasa, the 5 series if we can with 5yr warranty.

We had more Bosch and Platinum fail under warranty than Yuasa

Had a battery stand with 7 Platinum batteries. All brand new, I charged and tested them one day and 2 were faulty and 4 gave poor results. The rep got similar on his tester.I rejected the lot and replaced them with Yuasa from a different supplier. Bosch are just someone elses under a Bosch label.

My two leisure Banner batteries were fine for over six years - they were on hook up for only about a month in all that time - the Solar panel kept them charged the rest of the time.

But I have replaced them with a couple of Yuasa - mainly because my nephew works at a Motor factor and got them at a heavy discount.

The Yuasa are totally maintenance free while the Banners needed topping up occasionally.

How do you work that one out then ?

Yuasa 95Ah and 830A CCA

Exide 100Ah and 900A CCA
I sell numax batteries at work, the 019 is a higher output than the 017. I think if you test all batteries with a tester you'll never get the same reading as on the label.

Update, the supplying dealer has asked me to fit banner or yuasa and the fitter can only get banner.

As the dealer is paying and I don’t want to complicate the remainder of my warranty I have gone for the banner maintenance free 3 year battery.

Collected my van today. New battery fitted FOC. As with A-J did not want to get into an argument about makes as I would have had to wait as they don’t carry stock they did a couple of other jobs FOC so heh hi fingers crossed I got a non Friday one?

Mine was fitted earlier, starts on the button and purring like a kitten.

Left mine for four days and it started like it should, just waiting to get the spec on it and will post the information.

Google "Multicell" They have branches all over and their range is both extensive and very competitively priced with nationwide delivery. We have bought a few batteries from them including two batteries for our truck that were the same OE fitment by MAN but a quarter of the price.

Not wanting to add to the confusion but SOME 019 batteries are a wee bit taller than 017, but footprint is almost identical, but the bonus of additional cranking amps in most cases. If you browse some of the bigger online battery suppliers you can click through to details and check dimensions....
