I know this is probably mild but I sent it anyway to the C&CC.

I must say that I’m disgusted with this club.
Whilst we are all in trouble with this Virus YOU as a self confessed ‘Friendly Club’ has done nothing to help the Fulltimers who live in their vans and need somewhere to stay.
Hats off to the CAMC they at least have listened.

Don't suppose it will help but made me feel better!

We sent emails to both CMC and CCC the response from CMC was OK at bit slow in responding but accepting of the issue, the CCC response was odd from the press office they went on about 28 days, the need to close, not accepting any new arrivals by no means as reassuring as CMC. I did not publish this at the time (26 Mar 2020) as although the response was not as comforting as CMC it did seem to state that fulltimers would be catered for and they would deal with case by case. The response has no name just press office, CMC was a personal response from an individual. Just hope all are now sorted form the next few weeks and no one is still wondering where they can and cannot go.

Dear Neil,
Thanks very much for your email.
As you can imagine it’s a very difficult time for the Camping and Caravanning Club and our members with the situation in the past weeks changing on a daily basis. It’s a very sensitive situation and we have to ensure that our sites are closed. We are very conscious of ‘full timers’ and are managing these at a local level, the maximum anyone can stay on our sites is 28 days and we are following the latest government requirements: ‘Where people are staying in caravan parks as interim abodes where their primary residence is not available, they may continue to do so’. So we can manage at a local level to make the right decision for people to stay if they genuinely do not have another residential address they can travel to. Unfortunately though, we absolutely can’t accept any new arrivals. If you have specific examples I would be happy to look into – our site teams have been fully briefed and empowered to make sensible decisions if people have nowhere to go and any special cases (eg NHS workers) are elevated to myself and the senior leadership team.

Please be reassured that at all of our sites that were due to open remain with site staff on them, we haven’t asked any Holiday Site Managers (we don’t have wardens) or staff to leave these sites. Indeed it’s important for security and to provide our team with accommodation whilst they’re waiting for the season to start.
I hope this provides some reassurance in regards to your questions.
Kind regards,

Thanks for that, Neil. It is a bit of a weird email. From what I’ve been told, the C&CC were not ‘very conscious of fulltimers‘ at all when they were telling them to leave that Sunday. Or if they were conscious of them, it was as a problem to be got rid of.

I remember that the email reply you got from the CMC (posted in another thread) was a bit ‘creative’ in that it didn’t reflect what was actually happening on their sites at the time.

Yes, I agree the CMC response was more like what they should have done as it was now being challenged, C&CC is more disappointing as it a day or so later and I wanted to think C&CC would of been more sympathetic. We are not big Club lovers but as I said before we did view them as a safe space when we were briefly fulltiming and had problems and wanted a few days to unwind and reset, think they have let the community down with their knee jerk reactions.

Feel another email coming on
