20 or so Camping and caravan club sites offer the option (for £7) for you to use the site for up to 3 hours to get water, dump waste and black water. I don't think Caravan Club offers this but can anyone tell me differently?

Having a black waste tank to empty, this is a useful facility for a short stop off when needed.

Thanks

not long enough
quite a lot for a wash and brush up, but a couple of showers, washing, internet access, it could start to make sense, coupled with the convenience of safe black tank disposal and fresh refill (y)

Don't know about CC sites, most likely would be the affiliated sites in Scotland

On and off for many years.
£7 did sound like a lot and then I remembered that it cost over £18 to do a couple of loads of washing and drying at a commercial launderette and at the C&CC site it was less than £12 for about the same amount of laundry. By the time you have done that and then done the tanks and used the facilities and information room probably well worth it.

I think it's a great system. If we have been away for a week, £7 to sort everything out before popping the vehicle back in storage has to be worth it.

Currently offered at 56 sites - we are in York and there is one whichever direction we come from. Just wish the CC offered the same.

When I used to visit the Caravan Club forum there were several posts asking for similar facilities but the CC management isn't interested.

And think of all the clip board confrontations they've missed there Graham:D

I thought it was four hours you got for your £7 at C&CC sites? I have used our local one a few times. Something to bear in mind is you don't get any electricity for that price. Very useful to fill and empty tanks when you are off on a trip though.

Can't understand why you can't do this at home for free.

Tha facility is aimed at people who are in the middle of a trip and not always staying where there are filling and emptying facilities.
The post I was replying to said he used it from home!

Not quite. It actually said "when you are off on a trip". I read that (and I think it was meant) as in the middle of a trip but can see that it could be read both ways.
It also says his local one

We keep our van on a storage site. Just up the road (about a mile) is a C&CC site. Home is about 13 miles away and I can't park any nearer than 50 metres from home and then with difficulty. When we are off 'on a trip' its easier to just call at the C&CC site and get the van ready for the road.

Apart from filling / emptying tanks I can take everything out of the garage and tidy up easier on a site rather than by the side of the road at home.

I do not know about clipboards. But there is one I know who would be standing there with a stopwatch.
