Cofton would have been ideal, it looks great. Sadly, not open for Christmas and N.Y. but thank you for the pointer, that will be on my visit list

Sandy Balls, such a nice place, but notoriously expensive. Hope they don't ask for extra again to extent the 1000hrs departure this time :Eeek:

I stayed at Cofton but it was after Xmas. Jan 4th for a month.
Broken Link Removed not looked round this park, it's a couple of miles from my house. Open Xmas.

I'm trying to book Cofton and it's giving me availability Xmas week. The pool is closed Xmas day.

Sadly none of us knows just how much time we do have left so only one thing for it, get out there and party like there is no tomorrow.

I hate Sandy Balls.

The best of Sandy Balls is the pub just outside the gate and up the road about 150 metres.

We didn't see the pub - we were too busy trying to get away from the place. We went to have a look and thought we had better leave before they charged us for the air that we breathed.

Thanks Chris, we have our own 'pub' and all are welcome.
If there is anything 'happening' in the Forest over the Festive Season, we would love to participate.
I am now cooking Xmas lunch in a mechanical vehicle with a kitchen the size of the ............ well, actually, no size at all. Oh god, what have I done ?

Thank you for that, Southampton. You live in a lovely area

That's great.

Just pointing out really that @ £50 a night to camp you might be disappointed.

Christmas is booked !!
Thank you for the link, Hollyberry and thanks to you all.
It's been a difficult decision (so much choice !)
Staying at Beverley Park, Goodrington. Used to visit there 'back in the day' so will be nice to revisit and half the price of Sandyballs, result !

Stayed at this place many many times when kids were young. but they closed the touring field. Maybe worth inquiring........ it has a great pool/leisure centre. We loved it as so convenient from London we even stayed in the lodges a few times.

quite a few years now, and loving every minute..
ooops, been having a browse around for touring sites that are open for xmas and new year around the new forest area'ish, bit too late for LAM as i now see they've already booked elsewhere, but lytton lawn is open until jan 5th when they close for a month, and all the entertainment, facilities, spa etc at their sister site just a mile or so down the road at shorefield country park is free to use for those staying at lytton. :)

could be useful info for others at a loose end over the festive period..

Oops! You are right Pam, we went for a weekend there earlier. The one I should have said was Hoborne Bashley http://www.hoburne.com/park-details/hoburne-bashley. Good swimming pool, bar and kiddies play area.

Sorry for not replying sooner have been away for a few weeks in an 'I.T' desert, bliss !
Hi Wildge, we are only away for a few nights over Christmas. We will be at Cheltenham, already booked before we went away. Not sure how many will be there but looking forward to it. Spending Christmas and N. Year in a motorhome in the UK will certainly be a first and looking forward to the experience !
Thanks Dryad, have noted the N. Forest site for the summer, love it down there, great for cycling.
Not in possession of any pets but thanks for the thought. That's what i love about this site, everyone is so helpful :D
