I'm a newbie
Hi

I will be purchasing my very first second hand motorhome :giggle:
My Budget is around 15K so the motorhome I will be buying will be around 15 years old ?
Could I have advice on what to look out for buying a second hand motorhome please.
I know the kind of things to check engine wise like cambelt change - service history - electrical faults ?
Is there any good strong points to check before purchasing ?
Thanks Brian.

To be honest Brian....first off, subscribe to the forum, then you’ll have access to Jim ‘s buyers guide, which is well worth a read, it could save you a fortune in the long run.

sit in as many as possible nefore you even think about buying - think about what you are going to use it for. are you going to mainly use sites on electric hook up or are you going to rely on the vehicles own power. Will you use the vehicles wahroom facilities etc.

when you eventually short list a few makes/models, make sure you test everything if possisble - locks taps switches beds etc

take the selection/buying process slowly and enjoy it!

Welcome, best to have a look around, for 15k there isn't much that's around that's pretty decent.best to look at private sales or of a car dealer that has one for sale from a part x.if you buy of e bat etc ,make sure you se the van first. Check financec and mot history if you find van. Best of luck.

£15K motor....£15 a year for unlimited advice.
Bit of a no brainer.

Welcome.

Also a 'newbie' this is my journey: I did research on Autotrader to find the layout that would suit my requirements. Checked MOT history and saved my myself from a couple near misses. I also watched lots of Youtube video on van selection, things to look out for ie damp, exterior damage etc the usual.

I'd like to think I've been careful, if I do have a hiccup I'll come for tea and an ear on the group. Thanks.

p.s. Would anyone care to comment on cam belt replacement of 5yr/50k on Ducato? Standard practice?

Give Darren at Dragonville a call and tell him Simon Jones said to speak to him. He specialises in older cheaper vans. His feedback is excellent.
