Buying LPG cylinders in Germany (1 Viewer)

Currently in Mittenwald & getting low on gas. I couldn't get a refillable cylinder fitted in the UK in time before coming.

Where do you buy LPG cylinders in Germany as not seen any around? Also are the connection sizes the same?

There are loads of garages selling Autogaz at about 60c.
You will need the German screw connect to fit the German nozzle. I filled my bottle Saturday

Oh dear. Never seen them for sale . Try a garage. I guess you will need a different regulator as well. Good luck. I have just had an Idea- let me make call I have friends in Mittenwald.

The connection is the same as UK butane, best bet is going to someone or a dealer that exchanges bottles and try and blag one, you can buy refillable bottles and also normal gas bottles at places like Fritz Berger but it's not going to be a cheap option. Bob

Hi, got the cylinder OK, but it's the connector / pipe I'm struggling with as I thought I might! Hardware store has only a few camping gaz pipes & à regulator for Rothenburger work tools, they won't fit. He suggested going to Innsbruck - but not allowed to go ré Covid .
Hopefully I'll last a day or two yet, going to Fussen tomorrow which is a bit bigger, goes through Garmisch-Partenkirchen which has a hardware store....

If you have any more thoughts, let me know.

Hi, got sorted yesterday thanks. The hardware store in Mittenwald didn't have any pipes, but found a campsite just out of town with some genuine Truma ones. I thought I was in luck until it wouldn't connect to the red German cylinder I'd bought. Even the camp site chap was perplexed! It fitted his grey cylinders. So a trip back to the builders merchant to change the cylinder over, this time to a grey one! The merchants were perplexed too, but hey ho we have has & heating now.
