Probably better to start with the buying.

after arranging a price and a sale of our van through "we buy your motorcaravan" last week we set our sights on buying a different van at the weekend. We aimed to go back to a Niesman Arto and there were two available. One new to the market and a private sale, the other in a dealer where it had stood for about 3 months.
The private one was actually in our own town and I made contact. She said that she had a couple coming all the way up from Poole (we are in Cheshire) to view it first thing on Saturday but if they didn't turn up we would be able to look. Saturday morning she messaged to say that they had arrived and parted with 100k of their hard earned cash.
Our main van we wanted was in a well known high end dealer 150+ miles away. Up at 90k we travelled up and looked at it. Filthy dirty, a massive dent in the table, a few bits here and there that needed doing was advertised as 18k miles but had 28k miles. Dealer was "nope not fixing that" Nope not fixing that" and "nope not fixing that" Managed to negotiate 1k off the asking price but nothing more. It needed 6 new tyres as well. We walked away to have a think about it and did so overnight. Having done so, we thought in the grand scheme of things, its not a van that comes up often and we would take a punt on it and fix the issues ourselves.

Sent them an email to say so and got a reply back saying someone else saw it after us and put a deposit down!!! god knows how, been up for sale for 3 months, was gone 2-30 when we left and they shut at 4.

Today, the buyer for ours turned up to pick our Flair up which we only owned for 5 months. Genuine reason for sale, but the company that bought it were first class. Nice guys, considerate, no messing, and even retained my number plate for me and paid the 80 quid. So now after 18 years we are (motor)homeless. We tossed and turned all night about not selling ours and holding on to it, but when the decision is made you know it's going to happen. We just didn't want to be without and having a ski trip booked in March which is now looking unlikely we hunt for a high end motorhome (if you have anything let me know)

So Buying = Nightmare
Selling = a nice experience.

You could always spend the money on buying the other love of your life - Crystal Palace FC :whistle2:

yes, it's manual and the 88, too long for me, need a 79 really, although would do an 83. Oh and yes, must be right hand drive.

Apart from that it's perfect;)

Have you ever had LHD?

no, wouldn't want one either. I have driven LHDs before when I have hired vehicles abroad but the LHD for me when most of my driving is UK based is a no no. Nikki freaks out ;-)

Prior to motorhome I had driven LHD abroad and didn't like it but after a few days with the Flair, our first MH and LHD I was hooked, I can understand Nikki's position though as I did let Jen drive once and I sat in that seat:ROFLMAO:

Sorry to hear of your problems. Hopefully you'll find one that is far better than the one your missed!

Good luck with finding what you want I wouldn't be surprised if in a few weeks that ( deposit down van) comes back on the radar?... Who knows seems a very unusual coincidence  🤞

How different we are. I'm on my second lhd ( 1st one 9+ years) wouldn't entertain rhd now. when I was offered a nice Clou from a known source I didnt want it.

I actually drove your previous Arto Paul before you had it and thought what a nice motor it was but I cant get a tag where I live.

Hope you find something nice, but personally I wouldnt rush it.

You could always buy a Carthago! And then not be able to use it for 3 months due to no spare parts availability ☹️
I think the more you spend on a van the more let down you feel 🤣
I should have kept my Autotrail a lot less bother than German vans👍

Surprised to see that this van has such a low mileage and 2 owners 6 yrs old and only 12,500 miles.
also states several items inc shower unused.
Lovely van though.

Sorry to hear that you let your "last" van go after you had sorted out the issues. Presume you managed to get a price you wanted ? Did they try to beat you down.?

Best of luck on your searches. (y)
