Can anyone give a bit of advice, I am buying a Elnagh Marlin 2006, 2.3 TD. I have heard that the Fiat engine that it has, has a few problems with reversing up slight inclines etc. Does anyone know anything about this. Would appreciate your views. Thanks

Hi, if you dont rev the guts out of it like some do, you won't have problem, keep your foot off the accelerator and just gently let the clutch out.

There is enough torque at tickover to reverse with, we do it all the time.

Thanks Peter, a few people have had the problem and Fiat have told them to go to 3000 revs, needless to say that some have had to have a new gearbox. Have you got 2.3 fiat?
