I've missed the bus - Literally
Does anyone know of a simple way of getting from the Newbury Showground to Oxford?
I booked the £9 trip via Warner Leisure but got a call today informing me that the buses were full. Using the first-come/served rule I've been bumped off!
Sooooo, realising that the Newbury Show is nowhere near Newbury, I start to look at the alternatives - namely public transport. On the journey planners, every bus and train service seems to go via Reading with an overall journey time to oxford of 2 and a half hours!! Why they go all that way 'backwards' when Oxford is 'upwards' is beyond me! Anyway that rant over and I have to admit in coming from a place where buses run every 7 mins to anywhere and up to 1.30a.m.
Do any Funster's have any ideas or local knowledge (forget a cab!) to help?
