Burstner Aviano 2008 electric hook up not working (1 Viewer)

Second trip out with electric hook up. Plugged in and credit purchased...nothing doing. 12v works fine. Hubby has checked fuses and nothing tripped. Are we making a rooky error somewhere???

Is there a trip switch in the hook up post?
Can you borrow another cable to rule out a problem with yours?
Could you plug into a different post (might be difficult with a credit system)
Enlist help of others on the site/aire people are usually willing to assist.

I'm not familiar with hook ups that you buy credit for but newer bollards sometimes require a little more than pushing in the plug..ie on some you push in the plug then turn it clockwise about 30°. On others there is a circular switch nearby.

If you have a multimeter, you could, VERY CAREFULLY, test for power at the van end of the hook up lead.

Can you see the trip switches in the hookup bollard? Even if you can't switch them, sometimes they have a transparent window so you can see what state they are in. The previous user might have had a problem and tripped the switches. I don't know how much you know about these switches, but invariably UP is ON, and DOWN is OFF.

If you have a blue plug to 13A socket adapter, you could test the hookup post and hookup cable, so at least you would know where the fault is. A socket tester is also useful for this. Maybe one of your fellow campers will have something you can use.

Yup. There was. We didn't touch it I itially because we could see green. A neighbour came to help and flicked the switch up....it appeared red..but it worked we have hook up!!!! Thank you for responding and taking the time to help. Much appreciated

That's the mechanical state indicator. Green = safe to work on, ie OFF, Red = not safe to work on, ie ON.
