Bürstner Aviano i727
Hi all. I’m on the verge of buying an 2012 aviano 727, it’s a 3ltr auto, with self levelling and air suspension. Du to joint issues I was after something comfortable with a decent (singles of good size island) beds at rear and need 4 seats 4 belts for grandchildren. Use will be weekends and longer uk breaks, also longer euro stays in the colder months in the uk. I was initially looking at something a little smaller - like a Hymer b578 or Dethleffs i4. But I’ve seen this aviano 727, I like the comfort but worried about the size, I’m upgrading from a camper van.
So, a decent motorhome? Any major concerns ? Appreciate any thoughts, it’s taking most of my retirement fund so need to get it right.
Cheers

What weight is it registered as?
Do you have a C1 licence?
Could be the ideal van for you not so sure it has 6 belted seats though.

I believe it’s registered at 4250 and yes I have a C1. I only need 4 belts in total, as we only take 2 grandchildren away at a time to maintain sanity

Sounds ideal then and nice vans.
Ref the seat belt reply in the original post you said "need 4 seats 4 belts " :xsmile:

Doh, yes I did, I meant 4 in total, so 2 travel seats.

If you are concerned about the size, can you hire one the same or similar size to try it out first?

Not concerned about driving , more about tight destinations and parking, it’s a bit bigger than my transit camper lol

It’s not just about the size, it’s as much about the choice, common issues etc

We had a Buestner 747 many years ago and it we loved it. Good build quality and loads of space. It was very big but I crammed it into some very tight spaces. The other thing to look out for with a larger van is tolls in Europe. We were charged an eye watering amount to go over the Brenner Pass 20 odd years ago. Also had to get a GO-Box for Austrian tolls which back then was a hassle. I don't know anything about tolls for larger motorhomes now as we have gone the other way to a PVC (no grand kids...yet) I probably would not be too worried on the money side, if it doesn't suit you could probably re-sell and get your money back or even a bit more.

We have the Burstner Solano t725. There are a lot of similarities between it and the Aviano 727 (other than the A class/Coachbuilt) we find it very comfortable and quite easy to drive/ manoeuvre. We spend quite a bit of time in it in Scotland and overseas and have managed to get it into some quite tight spaces.
Build quality is very good, being a Burstner.
Couple of things to bear in mind...
Long overhang (air suspension should negate the clearance but watch out for the swing when turning) and the 3rd and 4th bed situation. On our Solano the 'extra' beds are like Jenga and take a bit of sorting out each night!

This was the advert for ours when we bought it in 2017..

Good Luck.

What length is it?
When taking children you need to think about where your stopping and with no car available
Did you use : move your camper van much once on site?

Thanks all, really helpful. I didn’t use my camper much when taking the kids away, it was too much hassle tbh, tended to park up on decent sites we could walk from. When it’s just the two of us we are more likely to tour, a couple of nights in each location

Looks very similar to my Elegance i800 which we love. :xThumb:
I take the view that once it's parked / pitched up it gives us a reason to walk or use public transport to get about.
Ok, not as easy to park in towns like a camper van BUT if i need to i find spaces, never had an issue.
The big table is a bit of a pain, i removed ours and we now use a fold up type on a tripod or a camping style table that can be moved in and out as required.

We have an Ixeo 680 g on a maxi chassis. Also with 3 ltr, self levelling and 4 air suspension. Brilliant ride, much to recommend. That little lot would cost a fortune nowadays.

It sounds good and you may be realising layout is more important than anything else for most people.
Funds? Please take no offence !!! But don't spend all your savings on a Motorhome. Keep 15-20% back for running repairs and upgrades. Nothing worse than getting your new toy and then because you have spent out can't afford the new shock absorbers or boiler or tyres ........

Has it got a good service history? Cam belt needs changing I think every 5 years on Fiat so if it hasn’t had a change then maybe you need to factor that into the deal?

Hi, yes history is good, one owner and 30k miles from new. I think the 3ltr is a chain not a belt? Cheers

I like the idea of a smaller /removable table - thanks for that

I think I will, it’s hot EandP self levelling and air suspension, and Telair air con in the rear, I’m guessing these are good choices? Gosh I hate spending money lol.

If I've found the correct MH, it looks very nice.

Should have reasonable payload at 4250KG. With having the dropdown bed in the A Class cab, you won't have to play Jenga for the beds. Looks like the same island bed as ours which is very comfortable. The 12v electrics slide the bed back and up, making more space during daytime. If ever the bed motor stops working, it's the TV fuse in the Electroblok 99 that has gone. The fittings, control panel etc are identical to ours.

Good Luck!
