"Formed while the members were at Wallingford school, Carthorse is an indie rock ’n’ roll band that plays a mixture of their own songs and covers. Influenced by retro and modern classic groups like The Beatles, Oasis, The Clash and more, their sets feature strong harmonies, youthful energy and tunes guaranteed to thrill."

On the main stage on Saturday
" Quebec’s Le Vent du Nord knows how to turn the lost past into intense and beautiful performances that push their roots in striking global directions. The group is blazing a path that connects their Québecois roots to the wider world, in both arrangements and on stage. Considered a driving force in progressive folk, Le Vent du Nord captures the energy and mirth of a Saturday night kitchen party, infusing old Québec with a breath of fresh, cosmopolitan air."

"South Wales based indie folk roots band Rusty Shackle have been captivating audiences with their incredible live performances since early 2010. Their shows blend well crafted catchy tunes with stunning high-energy level performances which will make sure you’ll leave exhausted with their tunes swimming around your head for days afterwards. The six-piece group are made up of band members Liam Collins, Mathew Barkwick, Owen Emmanuel, Ryan Williams and brothers Scott and James McKeon. They amalgamate guitars , vocal harmonies, fiddle, banjo, mandola, trumpet and percussion to create a sound that is unique to them and one that instantly fills you with emotion and energy. Rusty Shackle draw influences from Folk, Roots, Rock, Celtic and Old time Blues. With years of domestic and international touring under their belts, and a large and loyal fan base already in place, Rusty Shackle have found themselves to be seasoned regulars on the UK festival circuit. Their most prestigious performances to date have been at Glastonbury, Cambridge Folk and Beautiful Days Festival."

"Dave Fidler & the Corvettes are a folk band from Manchester, England. With influences including Fleetwood Mac, Woody Guthrie and Billy Bragg their sound is an eclectic mix of blues and folk fused with classic singer-songwriter artistry. Ready yourself for big harmonies and enchanting melodies."
Long video but fast forward to see recent performances:

"Claiming to be from Brooklyn (but possibly from some other galaxy altogether), Kenny Young and the Eggplants are a not-easily-described semi-acoustic trio who perform songs about giant squirrels, scary bits of cheese, inebriated crime-solving birds, and malevolent washing machines, among other important rock and roll topics. Various attempts to define their music have been made, but perhaps the most entertaining quote comes from the New York Times, which said that the band gives “eloquent voice to the multifaceted neuroses of prolonged adolescence.” In the U.K., the Sunday Herald said the Eggplants “mix the wit of Jonathan Richman with the sound of the Nico-era Velvets to create a surreal and satirical gumbo.” They have also been called a “deeply eccentric pop band” (The Guardian), and a “wonderful weird band” (The Scotsman). The Village Voice said, “The naivete Kenny wears on his sleeve is genuine - think of an East Village Brian Wilson, without the money but still tilted in his own wacked-out way.”

Can you put us down as a good possible attendee
Glad that you might like to join us (y) The booking link https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/bunkfest-2017-tickets-16833558627 is now open to everyone not just Funsters so if you would like to be camped in the prime spot Site B with us then suggest booking before it fills up (at least 11 out of 20 pitches booked & maybe more than that) as we can't hold any spaces there. If it does become full then still more camping in Site C & sure we will all rendezvous on the fields or in the Sports Club bar

A good line-up in a lovely place.

We are a bit busy either side of that weekend (if we have another Lincs music meet this year it will be the weekend after Bunkfest), so I can't really book now, but we could well be last minute attendees. I doubt we will get to camp with the rest of you at that late stage but even if we are in Site C it's not too far away.

If we do make it, it will be 1 van & 2 people.

An afterthought - if there is a late flurry of interest & no camping spaces left, I have a farming customer just over 2 miles away from the main stage venue. There might well be a possibility of a rally site there if needed. They are already geared up for visitors.

Just looked at page 1 £30 ea who do we pay as the booking form says £35 ea
It's booking direct here https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/bunkfest-2017-tickets-16833558627 & the price is a little higher than last year at £35 plus £2.76 booking fee per person for the long weekend so total £75.52 if for two people. When we started this thread back in January we only had last years prices to quote as a guide & will add an update to page 1 now as it is a bit confusing. If this years meet goes well then next year they may agree for us to book direct with a booking form & cheque at a Fun discount rate but as this is a volunteer run event with the profits going to the local community & the upkeep of the Sports Park we don't feel we can push too hard on this. The camping fees include the use of the free shuttle bus (although it's only a short walk to the festival), toilets, showers & access to the bars & Sports Park evening entertainment. As we will be camped on the sports pitches no dogs/pets are allowed.
If booked into Site B arrival time is a little earlier - from 10am on Thursday & departure by midday on Monday.

The Sports Park has just 20 pitches in Site B but Site C currently has plenty of space. Your farmers site sounds good as an extra option especially if he allows dogs - lots of Funsters have wanted to join this meet but can't as the Sports Park doesn't allow dogs. Perhaps you could explore it further as an option & post details? Would be great to get a big crowd of Funsters at BunkFest (y)

On Sunday:
Talisman
"Talisman’s new album "Don’t Play with Fyah" is a revelation. Most bands with a history that stretches back four decades are content to go through the motions, their creative peak somewhere in the past, not Talisman. Their new album includes some of the strongest material they’ve ever recorded, with seven brand new songs and the corresponding dub counter parts; this is their finest album to date. With such strong material we knew we had to pull out all the stops when it came to the final mixes and who better than legendary musician, producer, engineer and all round British reggae genius Dennis Bovell (Matumbi, Steel Pulse, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Aswad, Madness, Orange Juice, The Slits, The Pop Group, Arcade Fire, Joss Stone) who has taken the songs to the next level and given us the strongest British reggae album in years."

Hope & Social
"Eight years, five albums, thousands of gigs, Glastonbury, Leeds Arena, and many a pub and front room up and down the country – Hope & Social do the things every band does. But then so much more. A peoples’ band at heart, they involve their audiences in as many ways as possible; singing on their records, appearing in their videos and by always making their shows life-affirming experiences.Described as “one of the UK’s top five live bands” - The Independent. With their energetic, joyful, dance-along music and impeccable showmanship, Hope & Social create a truly unmissable experience."

Jody Wyatt
"A highly popular local artist with a set of original songs that share a love of life on the river, and things in his life. With a fine voice, a real talent on acoustic guitar, this is a very big welcome to a very welcome artist. " For his second visit to the Famous Monday Blues, Jody Wyatt, the full deal of a singer, excellent guitarist, a dry sense of humour and a clutch of mainly self written songs. His only cover a set closing version of Dylan's 'All Along The Watchtower' (and a very good one as well). His style reminds at times of the likes of Neil Young and Billy Bragg. In the few months since his first show he has really honed his set, and again proved to be a very popular and enjoyable artist." Pete Clack - Blues In Britain Magazine"

Please let us know if any update on this?
The update is that the chap who will decide if this is possible is away on holiday. Returns next week. His son didn't say 'No' outright, but said it's up to Dad - the field is right next to his house. Son runs the business these days, so if it was a 'No' from a policy standpoint, he would have said so. So I am cautiously optimistic.

I can tell you now that anyone using this facility will need to arrive with the appropriate tanks full & empty. If we are lucky, there might be access to an outside tap, but even that won't be in the same field.
