DIY so probably not suitable for insurers, after all they don't know your install skills. Is it better than the ebay ones a quarter of the price ?

It is a budget diy option (no extra costs for 2 years) with no insurance discount (tracker could only add 6% at Caravanguard as 19 of 25% available deducted for Strikeback alarm already) but like the idea of the being able to check the app for motorhome location when remote from where we are:) More chance of recovery if taken too. Have used a hidden trackable phone for this so far but not ideal. Don't know about the ones on eBay but with Bulldog name behind this product now it would indicate that the Pinpointpal is a good quality product.

It messages via email - for us this would show on our phone. It's good when you are away to be able to use wifi & check its position to know it is still on the drive or in the car park :)

We opted for a system that alerts us via SMS . We felt that when abroad our phones are always on but our internet access is as and when .
We felt that in some cases an email message could be missed for hours but an SMS was instant.
We can still track online.
All SMS alerts include coordinates and a google map link. We can shut the vehicle down with a reply SMS or even listen to and conversation in the vehicle.
like yours insurance don't recognise it.

We did the same. We opted for the VanBitz 'Non Starter' Once you arm it no one can steal it even if they've nicked your keys. The thief just thinks it won't start, but as soon as he turned the key we are sent a link to a google map, click on it and you can see the precise location of the van, we can also listen in on the van.

If you forget to arm it and its stolen you can still arm it, as soon as the thieves stop, they won't be able to start it again and we'll know where they are. This modern way of protecting your van is great and gives great piece of mind.

ours is similar.

Its a shame the insurance companies aren't encouraging people to fit them as it must aid the recovery.

Our system cost about £50 , was easy to fit and then about £10 per year credit on the sim card.

It also has an SOS button that when pushed an send your location to up 10 phones at once.

Being able to immobilise or even stop the engine from afar by a simple SMS is fantastic peace of mind.
