main carpark by the bridge allows overnight parking, stayed there a few times and nice spot

As Bungy said the groe car park , right by the river , toilets also .
I think you start paying at 8 am .

I agree It is the place I stop at going into Wales or coming out. Get ticket in the morning after 8 am.
Free overnight. not too bad but sometimes get the boy racers in the road behind.
