Hi All,

The Chief Fairy has asked me to ask on here, should we attend the Birmingham Show on the 14th.

Don't know the area very well and was wondering if anyone out there could suggest and recommend a CL or C & CC CS to the south of the M42 where we could stay the night.

Re Q1 If you're Caravan Club members it has to be Tuesday especially if you're geriatric like us Entrance is £4.50 each on the voucher in the Sept and Oct club magazine.
Re Q2 The CC runs a site on site if you get my drift. It's £30:Eeek: a night though and I'm not sure if it's available to non-members.

If you're not a member of the CC this post has just wasted a minute and a half of your life for which I apologise in advance!(y)

No apologies needed Bertie but where in my description does it say Multi Millionaire?
£30 a night!!! I'm a tyke (with a scots mother). I had all my generosity beaten out of me as a child.
C'mon, there must be somewhere other than the site for the Exec. Comm. of the CC.

Somewhere on here there was a recent thread about local sites but I've failed to locate it. Try inputting NEC in different parts of the forum you might find it. I know £30 a night and 6amp ehu, you couldn't make it up!;)

Thanks for that Colyboy.

Just booked in for Monday night with the C&CC at Kingsbury Water Park.
Means driving past NEC I know but with the Oldies discount got it at £10.50.
The Chief is now looking for somewhere to stay on our way back home.

PS. I don't need a passport for leaving but I do have a residents visa for living there. I got 'Associated Counties' Status by marrying a Devon girl.

Some extra info - if coming from the south, Hopwood Services at J2 M42 has cameras to enforce the 2 hour free parking time, if you carry on to J3, take the A435 towards Birmingham for a few minutes, Becketts Farm is easy to spot on the left and the restaurant is very good, the exit is on the roundabout back to the motorway, there is a petrol station (with gas) mid way back to the motorway.
http://www.beckettsfarm.co.uk/

or at J4, take the A34 towards Birmingham and immediately on the right is a Tesco and large garden centre, big carpark, and both have restaurants and fuel at Tescos. This is only 1 minute off the motorway.
Take care approaching the NEC, there are long term roadworks on the A45 by the airport, they have caused local delays.
