Since Nov 2010 after 25 yrs under canvas.
A big lorry kissed my Van's arse yesterday so I now have a broken window on my Globecar Campscout. Anyone know where i might go to find a replacement? Any help will be most welcome

One possibility but ouch ....the price!

Thanks, that looks very promising, will contact them on Monday morning. But the price! Ouch!

I suppose motorhoming is a bit of a contact sport.

With a bit of luck, if it’s a direct match to your other one, they might have an odd one they could sell you. Fingers crossed!
Certainly check with them if they know it’s the sort fitted to Globecars.

Indeed, I wouldn't even start looking, this is a job for your insurance company to sort out.

EECO will make a window using your old one as a pattern around 400 quid I think.
Certainly not worth an insurance claim unless claiming off the other guy.

Trouble with eeco is they sometimes can't match the colour.

the window may be eyewatering expensive, but that body damage will make them bleed. a very hard to repair area on a motorhome as you cant access the inside to push it out
definitely an insurance claim

I only looked at the window.
BIL's Ducato van had similar damage on both sides it was I think 3 years old at the time. Insurance company wrote it off. He took the cash then bought it back for a few k, 4 years later apart from new rear lights still driving it unrepaired as it's galvanized no rust.

Are you serious? The van is only 5 years old, probably with a market value over £35k. I know it's a nasty dent but .....

I hope you are wrong as we love the van. I will get a quote later in the week from a local garage to submit to the insurance company.

I was talking about BIL's panel van only worth about 10k and it was damaged on both sides. Apparently to repair those corners they have to cut the corner panel away as it's double skinned & replace the complete corner.

Most body shops will be able to pull that dent out with one of these.

They spot weld a few washers edge on over the dent, then pull them out with a slide hammer. A quick quarter twist breaks off the washer once the dent is out.

Yeah I wouldn't bother with the dent, unless you have abig insurance claim, after a week or two you will never notice it, and it's not hurting anything.
There are plenty firms on eBay that do new windows, I had a side one a while ago , put it in ourselves approx £150

very little gets pushed out pin pullers do the work now saves stripping interiors

That is a relief, from the post above by Lenny H B I had visions of the pillar being cut off by an angle grinder and being somehow rebuilt. The cost and time of such an operation would indeed be eyewatering.

I will be contacting the local bodyshop people later in the week. Will post on here the quote, as it may help others with a similar dent.

Yep that is how it used to be done & still is if it is a major squashing.
One of ours cost £700 to have a badly dented corner repaired & that was around 20+ years ago .

It wouldn’t surprise me if they just filled it and sprayed it over....?
