We are planning to take ferry to Spain early Jan, 2012 was offered discount from £443 to £158 using 4700 of airmiles obtained from tesco vouchers.
This gives us a good price but cost an awful lot of tesco vouchers which could may be used to bettar value for something else. We are not willing to drive through France in January, probably will on way back
May/June time Does anyone know of any other discounts for Brittany crossing

I hope you have a smooth crossing the bay of biscay when it is bad is really bad and when it is good is like a mill pond, have been onboard in both kinds of crossing, if you are not good on the water in a swell you might wish you had been 'willing' to do the land crossing

We did the land crossing from Calais to Spain in Jan this year. No problems at all. Stayed in a couple of french aires on the way. Only thing to watch is that in January some of the aires do not have water, so your tanks need to be full.

Have done the crossing through france in December several times and never had any problems.

The tesco vouchers make the cost good, but otherwise driving is much cheaper.
