Brittany ferries.Pont aven changed to galicia.

Just had an email changing our pont aven booking on the 29th December to the new galicia ship which apparently represents a new way of sailing as it includes dinner and breakfast plus all cabins get a TV and better mattresses. Hopefully this is a good change.

Wonder if it has any cabins with private balconies, like on the Pont Aven? We rather liked them, expensive but just about worth it.

Does 'direct access to the outside deck' mean no private balcony? Or is there a private balcony?

It seems somewhat ambiguous to me?

This was flagged up back in 2019. They where originally taking a Charter Boat (ex Mediterranean Trade) whilst it came on stream, but I suspect the Chinese Virus Pandemic scuttled that?. Looks good on paper. But having done a few "maiden" voyages in my past, I will reserve judgement, I think.

Hope it’s more reliable than Pont Aven. Three times in 5 years we had to rearrange our travel........loved travelling on it, but we always kept our fingers crossed it would sail.

A bit of a downgrade, but the pool wouldn't have been open anyway!

Don’t now about a downgrade but Our dog is happy,
I just rang them and have now got pet friendly cabin instead of the kennel.
