Brittany ferries (flex ticket)

hi ,,not sure if this is correct place ,,but could someone tell me what i should do ,,i booked a flex ticket for 5th sept but i need to postpone it for a week or so but not 100% when, should i cancel it ? or re book on other date ,,or tell them my situation ,,,thanks in advance

Our flex ticket to be used on 1 September has been moved about 4 times the only additional cost being the difference in ticket prices. I did most times on line, but they have been very helpful if you ring them. Do it as soon as possible as I think there may be penalties for late changes - ringing them may be best.

If you cancel you will only get a 75% refund. You can amend on-line with no charge up to 4 hours before your booked departure - obviously paying any increase in the fare, which may well be more the later you leave the re-booking to your intended travel date but could be less if later in the year when perhaps in a cheaper charge season. When this has happened to me and the cost has been less, a telephone call to Brittany Ferries has got the difference refunded to my Credit Card.

As you are not able to amend your booking to a date “yet to be decided“, what I suggest you might do is to amend the booking to a future date (say a month or two ahead), which you obviously will not use. This will avoid the risk of losing the full value by being a “no show”. Then, when you do know when you wish to travel, amend the booking again. These amendments will be with no charge, although as mentioned you may have to pay any increase in fare, or if you are really lucky reclaim the fare reduction.

From past experience of amending a booking several times, there seems to be no restriction on the number/frequency of amendments permitted or change of route/direction of travel. The only limitation I have found is that if you have booked a return ticket, after the outward journey has been taken, it is not possible to amend the return leg on-line but only by telephone. For this reason, I always book two single passages, rather than a return ticket.

Yes just change it to another date. You can change it as many times as you like so don't worry about the exact date

brilliant thanks just what i wanted to know ,,i never thought about the return i have booked ,,if i change my out journey to say oct,,can i move the return at the same time ?

Yes, but obviously to a date further ahead than your outward travel. Glad to have been of help.
