Brittany Ferries cancelled sailing to Santander (1 Viewer)

BRITTANY ferries have just informed us that our ferry Portsmouth to Santander is cancelled on the 20th February 2023 due to refugee being brought into Uk from Spain.
The Galicia has been moved to the Cherbourg crossing so it looks like a long drive for us.
Anyone else had this news.

Just to add we have kept our dog cabins as booked initially for Santander Crossing.

Have they already brought one or are they putting a ferry on 20 Feb just to fetch one?

Just had a look and there is a sailing on Feb 3 and the next one is Feb 27.

It says no sailing but at the bottom of the page it says “sailing full”, but it also says that for Feb 20 so who knows .

Wonder if the sailing was overbooked and your reservation has been selected to be bumped... ?

Edited to add: I've just tried to make a one-way booking from Portsmouth to Santander for just one foot passenger and it does indeed show as: Sailing full. Which I think is a euphemism and somewhat disingenuous, when what they actually mean is the sailing is cancelled.

The actual ship has been moved to the Cherbourg route. I have the same pet cabins I originally booked. I’m thinking commercial is meaning we are getting better payment elsewhere.

So does that mean they're bringing refugees in Spain to the U.K. by ferry to save them the trip across France and the rubber boats risk?

No idea the actual boat is diverted to the Cherbourg crossing. So it’s not using the Galicia which was the boat on our crossing.

Maybe using a more basic ferry to avoid any Covid contamination or 'wear and tear' on their regular vessel.
