Any members of Britstops on here? Not much info on the website but just wondering whether these were daytime park ups as well as overnights?
Ta

Varies - most of the hosts are pubs, we often arrive mid afternoon, have a drink and a look around. Some others ask you to arrive before a certain time.

We saw this a while ago . It said the app was free and then went on to say the code is unlocked by using the code found inside the front cover of your book.

what book is this ?

I joined a few years ago. Used it once and didnt sleep a wink as there was an all night rave in the field next door.

We've used them for a fair fews years, love them for stop overs between campsite bookings.

Recently discussed here

We’ve used pub stops for each of our three in total nights out in our first van🙂more than pleased with each of them, cost us the price of a meal and a few drinks which we would of spent anyway without the additional cost of site fee’s and more than likely a taxi as well.
We found the hosts helpful and friendly in each instance and as we travel with a small dog we checked to make sure they were happy to allow dogs into the bar before we turned up and this was never a problem.
Just as a note we only used the britstop book for one of the bookings as we found various similar apps online
Check out our post in ‘a view of the outside from the inside ‘ to see how rough it can get 😃😃😃

Looking forward to trying a few of these Brit Stop Pub Stops when we eventually get our MH

I either wild camp or use Brit Stops. Love it! Found some really lovely pubs using it. There's one in the the Yorkshire Dales which does the best pork belly ever (and I have eaten a lot of it, so I should know. 😋 ;) ) And one in Monmouthshire where the landlady has a lovely dog called Hendricks. They are two favourites. Wouldn't be without it.

I haven't got this years yet, only because my van is off the road, with no MOT, and awaiting repair. But as soon as it is good again I'll be ordering a copy of the book and I'm looking forward to using the new app too!

I usually park up, go in for a pint, and ask if I can leave the van while I have a wonder around the place in the day. Then have a couple of pints in the evening.

Love Britstops, great to have an app this year but cannot beat the book when your in a data notspot!

That's the beauty of it. It got me out of trouble in the Brecon Beacons!

We have been members for a few years and await our new book with access to the app.

Depends where you want to go. I find searchforsites lists most pub stopovers. We normally just give a pub a ring and ask if we book a meal or drinks if we can stay overnight. Everyone is different and uses Britstops for different reasons but for me its just a waste of money nowadays unless you want the book.

As Britstops hosts primarily provide an overnight stop location, I would ring the hosts and ask if you can stop for just the day time. If you use the hosts facilities, I should think it matters too much unless they are short of space ie Sunday lunchtime or major sporting event on tv etc

I just ring the venue/ pub independently and have never be refused dont need the book when theres other better apps available for free !

We have had 4 or 5 of the Brit Stop book's since it started, and have just had the 2022 ,one delivered,. Although a large portion are Pubs there are some other great options, we have stayed at a farm , a ice cream shop lovley Farm shop on the way to Scotland, and found some very good pubs, with the book you can take your time and see what suits.
In fact there are 4 Pubs within 10 miles of home all in nice little village's with pleasant walks, for a short break.

APP not available for android yet

They have said with the Android to wait a couple of weeks before downloading it. Also you can only use the code once, so needs to be on main mobile.

We’ve been using Bristops for years and love it.
Mostly pubs (often with food) they also have some wonderful vineyards and farms.

We would rather pay the local Britsop host money for a meal, wine, cheese, farm produce or W.H.Y. than pay a site owner fees for an overnight stop.

We put our local pub on Britstops but after 3 years they gave it up!
It was quite amazing how many users wives were not feeling well upon arrival so would not be spending any money in the pub that evening 🤣🤣🤣
I asked my local, which has a very large and level car park if they were interested in becoming Britstops hosts. They do allow motorhomes to stay overnight. They weren’t interested for a couple of reasons. They seemed to think that if they became Britstops hosts they couldn’t allow non Britstops members to stay and they didn’t like the Britstops rule of not being required to at least buy a drink or two.

Just reminded me to get this year's book. Glad there's an app as well now.

I understand trying to save money on not buying the book etc but also rememeber these things do need support or could fade away.

I had a feeling s4s and p4n etc would be the death of brit stops but it seems to be keeping going.

Exactly, and it's only £28 a year on a recurring subscription, it's about the only thing that hasn't gone up in price!

First concern is incorrect - I know of one Britstop host who advertise on the website that MHs can stay and pay £x, refundable against a meal - but Britstop members can stay 1 night free on production of book.
As for 2nd concern, well Steve & Denise’s comments above applies, but maybe hosts need to work on basis that most people will spend some money?

The hard face of some folk always amazes me. I'd never dream of that.
Again the few ruining it for the masses
