Hi, quick question, does Britstops just do pubs or does it cover other options too?

Other options, too. Lots of artisanal suppliers of various things. It's bad form to go without at least some intention of perusing their wares.

Thanks, quite happy to look, and buy.

No, not at all, was just curious before I place my order.
Same here. I've not tried Britstops before, as I've been tugging for the last few years. Now the van is ready for some serious off-grid camping, they sound ideal. Whilst I'll confess to liking a pub or two, farm shops and the other various craft suppliers also appeal (and probably cheaper, as I'd probably buy a meal in a pub, whilst I might get away with some venison burgers and duck eggs at a farm shop).

It's not a perfect option... but if you mainly use sites, then the cost of a Britstops book is saved in one or two nights site fees.

I find it especially useful in joining up the dots... either as a stopover enroute or to fill gaps in site availability.

I'm a solo, so a safe park, a pint of lemonade and/or a bite to eat makes Britstops a no brained for me for £30 odd.

Same, thought the variety might be interesting and keen to discover new things and places. Quite well acquainted with pubs 🤣🤣🤣

I paid £3.40 last week for a small loaf of bread at an artisan bakery. nearly choked when told the price by my goodness it was delicious and worth every penny 🫓

There is the odd public car park in there too. As above, worth the money if you use them a few times a year.

Last year I'd say 90% of my nights away were Britstops pubs. All were very good. You get a safe place to stay, a meal and some good ale, and still save on the price of a camp site. What's not to love.

I might try a Brit Stop that's not a pub next time. I have my eye on a farm shop and a vineyard!

We stayed at a farm shop near Holly Island . Lovely breakfast and we stocked up the fridge whilst we were there. The minted lamb hot pots were to die for.

I was talking to fellow traveller's about Britsops when away last week said I had just renewed mine, they asked for the old one so they would know where the places were and not have to pay.

Unfortunately, it did have the old one with me ............................................nice big flash van and didn't want to pay £30

Yes proper made bread is far better than the factory made sliced stuff available on supermarket shelves. I bake my own bread and rolls. The whole family loves them.

Some people are cheap. Do they think producing the book doesn't cost anything? 🙄

I'm sure Britstops is a great resource and I I would get it if it was an app,or available on line, and a lot cheaper. But I know they choose not to do that to protect the data and hold the price up, I suspect they are missing a much bigger audience though.

But of course as soon as it's produced it's out of date to some degree. Their principle of selling the book for the same price regardless of when in the year you buy it means I would only consider it as the new version comes out. But I usually don't even think about it until the summer and I'm traveling home from EU.

I'm guessing this year with many pubs permenantly closed it would be a mammoth task to update it in book form.

So I'll stick with my investment in all of the other tools available online, some of which have the Pub Stops shown too.

Suspect he's unlikely to spend any money at the host venues either.

The Britstops book has regular updates which you can download.

We've re-invested this year after a few years gap as we intend to do just UK this year and it will come in handy. Just one thought, though, I presume most of the places will still have some form of covid restrictions, in particular pubs, for a while yet.

As far as I’m aware all restrictions will be gone from 21st June.

There are numerous. I use searchforsites, park4night, campercontact to name three. The one I have used most over the last few trips has been searchforsites. All are apps available from App Store.
