I think if you signed up to the forum you may get a better response.

Also the ferry saving would more than go towards the subscription (y):)

But I may be wrong

I personally think it’s bad form to give discount codes to non subscribers.

I also think it’s a bit of a cheek to ask in the first place.

I agree, but also I am not sure a non subscriber can even get a PM?

I don’t know either.

It’s a good wind up if they can’t isn’t it?

I’m just wondering if anyone’s willing to pay my mortgage?
Well, if you don’t ask you don’t get.

Just to add I do wonder why first time posters ask a question before an introduction.
Think I've turned into a grumpy old man :)

Ok.. To save me looking it up..
Please explain how it works. Using a code off someone.
I am usually a Dover - Calais man and long drive down BUT wife has asked about "can we take another ferry straight to Spain "..
So I looked up the prices ready for January (cough).. and recall something about a discount scheme.

You just enter the code in as you fill in the online booking form then get 10% off your fare, I think the member gets £10 credit on their account.
My code is on its way.

Just booked our ferry using your Friends and Family code (thank you) and we got 5% discount. This was on the Portsmouth to Bilbao route - it may be different on other routes although I have seen another post where they said that the discount had been reduced to 5% now.

You are very welcome, shame the discount wasn't better though.

DFDS gives 20% discount to OAPs (y) You have to phone them though.

it seems that discount is only for Newhaven to Dieppe 4 hour sailings.

I have received a discount code from TeeMyob and Geejay for the Brittainy Ferry - Thank you very much.
Unfortunately I was looking for a discount code on the Dover Calais ferry.

Our booking confirmation came through from Brittany Ferries - Portsmouth/Bilbao 17th Jan, outside cabin @£110. Just below the info regarding the cabin number were the words "restricted view". Checked the deck plan for Cap Finistere and saw we would be looking out at the bum of one of the life boats - not happy at all. Sent an email to Brittany Ferries and within 30 mins I had another confirmation changing our room number to an outside cabin with no restrictions. Well done BF!! Happy bunny now. (y)(y)

We had one of those and they are actually very good, the lifeboats hang well above the line of sight and the view is barely restricted at all.

Not a lot to see but sea in any case:)

They have the added advantage of being in the middle of the boat and slightly inboard which is better for us prone to sea sickness.

I would suppose that seeing the lifeboat was still there would be an extra comfort ?
