Time to revisit those long forgotten savings accounts or Ken Dodd matrasses and check down the back of the sofa ...

as booking for this one is a bit different and i will need to confirm and pay some money upfront (not sure yet though how much), can i ask that you make payment in FULL please for this rally.

the total cost will be £35 (£11.66+ per night) for the three nights on a non refundable basis, I have based the cost on a certain number of attendees and will only confirm with the council AFTER i have received payment in full, enough to cover the entire cost. If some of those who expressed an interest decide they no longer wish to attend, which isnt an issue, then i may have to ask for those who are attending for more money.

Just to confirm, i will not book the venue until we have enough money in the pot and if we dont get enough then everyone who has paid will get a full refund.

if you pay in full and then cannot attend then if we can get someone to attend in your place then you will also receive a full refund!!

There are no scheduled 'events' but a pizza night is planned at some stage and we will have full use of the scout hut on Mon and Wednesday evenings, so any suggestions/offers to run an activity are welcome ....

i will forward details for payment this afternoon (the account is a different one than that used for Thorpe)

Hi
Can you include me please.
Where do I pay the funds to please?
Sue

Just been asked where the rally will be held

For those travelling from Thorpe, there is a short route via some country lanes, BUT I wouldn't recommend it !!

The best route is to turn right out of the Thorpe camp site, travel up to Plough Corner (where most of you will already know, having come in that way) and turn left.
Then continue over the first roundabout (left will take you Morrisons and right will take you to Lidls and M&S food hall), you will go past a large Tesco with fuel but no LPG, until you reach the large roundabout just outside Clacton. Then turn right on that roundabout (past the fire station) and stay on that road all the way to Brightlingsea.

Just an update for our plans in case anyone hadnt thought of it and thinks "What a good idea" or "that blokes a nutter"

We changed our holiday plans and are going over to Europe for a month straight after the Brightlingsea rally.

Going from Harwich on 5th June cost us (7.4m motorhome no cabin no dog and economy (thats a surprise to everyone) for £174 and coming back on the tunnel for £125 (£10 more expensive than ferry and even bigger surprise I paid it)

MisterB has told us where to park during the day of the 4th and then sleep overnight at Harwich for the morning ferry.

Just in case it floats your boat

And he also offered to drive you over to Harwich during the Thorpe rally and point out a couple of parking spots, the offer also applies to others who might be planning 'for the future', subject to space in the car of course !!

First in best dressed etc... !

And I'm torn between the two options of 'nutter or good idea' - perhaps you should have set it as a poll ....😁😁

I see a bright future for you and am getting a message from somebody called.......... He says * I can see a line of vehicles on the sea front, are you driving a van? No a motorhome?, I can smell a McDonalds or is it fish and chips. I see lots of bouys and flags, are you in Harwich?

Frinton Baptist said, he's getting an image of a PR4 person playing with the buoys in Harwich ...
