I have not been for donkeys, but it was always great , usually cold and rarely rained I agree well worth a visit.

There's usually a re-run in North Petherton. This year it is on 12th November and is not usually quite so crowded and the same floats are displayed (or used to be, it's a long time since I went!).

It comes through Wells later in the week. It always rains or it's too cold and we never go. Mizgogs!!

Sad to see that you can no longer stay overnight at Morrison. We did it once and we were very grateful to have a dry base on a very wet night, with no need to head off afterwards.

One other participant was happy for us to be there and requested that their 8y old son could change into dry clothes before an 4h drive home. It felt a bit awkward having the mum standing outside in the rain and it’s the closest we’ve ever come to “can we use your loo?”

Talking about using loos, the queues for Morrison’s went up and down one row of parking at 5pm: not much good for the likes of people similar to me! 😉

I live in the area. Although Bridgwater is the biggest and probably the best to go to becasue of the "squibbing" which is quite spectacular, the rest of the circuit will have all of the big carts (aka floats) and will be quieter. North Petherton, Burnham on Sea, Wells, Glastonbury, Shepton Mallet and Weston -super-Mare are all pretty much the same with smaller crowds even though the participants will say not the same atmosphere as Bridgwater.
