Breakdown cover insurance (1 Viewer)

After receiving renewal for our Landrover they want £140 for this coming year . So looking at going down the path of covering the driver and spouse instead of vehicle . They won't cover any think over 16yrs old or above 3.5 weight so that rules out the motorhome .AA have quoted £79 and green flag £149 they do not cover European cover that has to be done seperately Which we have been quoted silly amounts . Anyone else looked at this anyone know any other company who does over 3.5 And cover Europe ? We are not to bothered about motorhome as Comfort give us a good deal but it would be interesting to see if there is a company out there that does it all and at what cost .

Adac. .. plenty of info in here about them. can't fault them tbh.
We have partner plus.. covers both of us in any vehicle inc motorhome.
I think the nationwide do a good deal too.

As above ADAC Plus which will cover you and your spouse in any vehicle that you are travelling in. If in the UK then the AA will respond.

Costs £10 per month but also covers travel insurance, phone insurance and breakdown cover for any vehicle you're travelling in both UK and Europe. Particularly good is that the breakdown cover covers motorhomes up to 8 metres and 7.5 ton. Caravans or trailers up to 8m in length including A frame.

That sounds good but I think time limitations apply abroad so if you plan on anything over 90 days you have to pay extra

We were told there isn't a limit for european cover, although the travel insurance is only 30 days unless you pay to upgrade. There's nothing in the literature about the breakdown cover being limited to 30 days.

As you already know your van is too heavy for the likes of AA, RAC and Greenflag and other mainstream but not all insurers; if it’s just UK and European breakdown cover try "LV Britania Rescue” Tel: 0800 756 8700. They cover up to 7 tonnes and according to Which beat their competition in both performance and price in fact they where No 1 in the last Which survey I looked at. We have our two cars and motorhome covered with them, they saved me a lot of money. Hope this helps, good luck

The Nationwide breakdown cover is through LV Britannia Rescue. We've always used them for breakdown for the car.
