If you are a member of the C&CC you are eligible for their RAC Arrival cover. No size or weight restriction.

If not, then ADAC, but in France there have been issues with there Agents in the past.

Try Britannia Rescue, I think they provide cover for over 3500Kgs. :thumb:

not long enough
We in the C + CC as well, took advantage of the RAC package, can't actually recall what we paid now but remember it being really good value, particularly when it includes full European cover

I seem to think that going to the RAC direct they wouldn't even cover us @ 5 tons

Only had a flat battery so far so yet to find out how they would move us

11yrs, but many years a tugger.
There is not a lot of choice for us at 10.5tons. RAC Arrivals, RAC Arrivals or RAC Arrivals, but their limit is £2500 when abroad, so if you have to be recovered home, it's possible you would have to contribute something. At least, I believe, they get you home before asking for your bit.

Safeguard, I broke down in Spain 3 weeks ago and safeguard instructed the international AA to liaise a local low loader who took my 5 ton tag axle to an Alko dealer who fixed the air suspension and the AA phoned 3 times a day to oversee everything and also arranged a hire car,

Recently went through a radical review of breakdown cover, travel insurance and bank accounts.

Rather than pay best part of £300 for car & MH breakdown cover + £95 for travel insurance. Changed bank account and for princely sum of £10 a month get breakdown cover included on both wife's and my car, worldwide travel insurance for both of us, 12 months addition warrantee on purchases, 3% interest on current account balance and phone insurance. (sorry sounds like a sales pitch)

To cut a long story short now have everything covered for £120 + £60. The £60 is in addition to the MH insurance premium for RAC European cover. (Comfort or AIB)

With vehicles over 3,500kgs you need to read the small print before signing up for breakdown cover.

they appear to pull prices out of a hat on a whim.

My arrivals cover was £82 at last renewal....UK only.

I suspect your 'free' club membership wasnt as free as you think....the forty odd quid would be included in the premium if you werent already a member.

Since May 05 (Ex Tuggers).
Britannia Rescue via the >>CSMA<<.

Caravans and trailers – your cover includes any caravan or trailer that is attached to
your vehicle (this does not
include help at the home address that we have on our
records or within ¼ of a m
ile of that address or the location at which your caravan is
normally stored). Caravans and trailers should not be more than 8 metres in length
(including A-frame) and fitted with a standard 50 millimetre ball coupling. All caravans
and trailers must meet the requirements of the Road Vehicles (Construction and
Use) Regulations 1986. If appropriate you must always carry a legal and serviceable
spare wheel or a manufacturer supplied or approved emergency tyre inflation kit or
equipment and keys for any tyre security devices.

[HI]Motorhomes – must not be more than 8 metres in length or a weight when fully
loaded not exceeding 7.5 tonnes and must be a recognised make and model
which has been coach-built for that precise purpose. If appropriate you must always
carry a legal and serviceable spare wheel or a manufacturer supplied or approved
emergency tyre inflation kit or equipment and keys for any tyre security devices.[/HI]

Cheers,

Jock.

10 years this time
Were with Comfort (AVIVA) and they include UK and continental recovery for our 7M 4600kg Hymer plus trailer making us nearly 5900kg

We have had to use it in the UK, Spain and Italy. Each time we have had no problems and good service from RAC Commercial.

So how much would your European cover be. I think about £220. !!!!
Another quote I got was over £400.

Van is 8 mtrs including scooter rack. Weight is 4400kgs.
Insurance and recovery for 365 days European travel is a bit about £550. I'm happy with that.
