Hi everyone

looking for advice if motorhome gets stuck when on grass pitch
read on another forum people putting bread baskets under their tyres
when pitching up to get more traction if you should come stuck
are they having a laugh πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ any other recommendations welcome
thanks keep safe 😊😊😊

They're not havin' a larf. A bread basket cut in half will get you out of the clag better than those yellow slippy things which can tend to take off when you get wheel spin.

First thing to get is decent tyres..!!!

Bread tray/basket you need two.
Cut the sides of and cut in half so you have one for each of your 4 wheels. Don't make the mistake of just putting them under the driven wheels (front ones on a Fiat) as the other pair of wheels will sink into a hollow making it difficult to drive off soft ground.

It's not a wind-up, they work a treat if the ground is a little soft.

What other items do people carry just in case?

We use seed trays as per the photo

All looks good. There are several mats there.
Which item did you get?
Top middle or bottom?
Top item. The middle looks great, but a very heavy. The mats I bought are light easily stored, and have worked ell in use.

Know a lot of Funsters swear by the simple bread basket and I 100% agree it has its place.... it is strong enough and large enough to place under wheels to stop van sinking into ground whilst parked up and therefore allow you to get momentum when leaving pitch.
However IMO they are absolutely useless at providing any sort of traction if placed under wheel to provide traction when stuck.. For that you need PROPER traction mats/sand ladders or similar.
