1996 boxer 2.5td. I have found the fusebox in the base of the glovebox, anyone know if there's a second box hidden somewhere or is that all of them?

Hi, nice meeting you at Saint Quentin, it's been many years since we had ours but I seem to remember another fuse box under a black cover under the bonnet. 😎 Bob and Janie.

Is it a vehicle or habitation area issue? If the latter there should be another fuse box in the living area, probably near things like water pump switch and any meters.

Thanks Bob, it was nice meeting you too if only briefly. I can't see anything under the bonnet except the fuses for the fridge, split charge etc. Thanks anyway. 👍

My 2001 fiat base only has fuse box in glove box and the relays are behind the lower dash panel under the glove box.

Vehicle issue sadly. Started the van this morning no problem, drove about 5mins to first junction and the engine died and would not re-start. All the fuses in the glovebox seem to be protecting lighting type circuits hence my enquiry about a second box

Doesn't sound like a fuse issue. Is your vehicle turning over on the starter?

We had a similar problem once and it turned out to be a faulty fuel filter.

We had a problem in France it wouldn't start, it turned out to be the earth lead from the chassis to the engine, cleaned it up and away we went. 😊 Bob.

Long post....Well it turned into a bit of a long afternoon. We broke down at 9.00am on luckily a wide junction so weren't blocking the road. I spent 10 mins fiddling with fuses in the hope it was something simple but no joy. Breakdown guy came about an hour or so later but knew less than me so towed us back to the recovery yard. Then a conversation with euroassist about which garage to take the van to. The agent told me that although it was (by then) only 11.30 he probably wouldn't be able to find a French garage to have a look at until about 2.30 as they were all closing for lunch so would not reply to his enquiries 🤨 he would get back to me by 3pm. I decided to do some internet research and concluded that the fuel pump cut off solenoid was the most likely problem. I checked there was voltage with the ignition on but it was not clicking so probably stuck closed. Luckily the recovery guy was still around and had the correct size spanner so we took out the solenoid, removed the plunger and refitted the body. Yay, the van started straight away, however to stop it I would need to stall it. I phoned Euroassist but they could not get a new solenoid fitted until the next day, grrr. I then asked the recovery guy and he rang a local diesel fitter just 5mins drive away who had one in stock. I drove there and they fitted it in just 5 minutes. Fab, back on the road before 4.00 pm. We are now at Eurotunnel waiting for the 8.30 pm train instead of the 10.30 am one but that's much better than sometime tomorrow after a night probably on a garage forecourt. Moral...local knowledge is usually better.
