To improve battery life on the mopeka system you can change the refresh rate.

Change mine to the 10 second refresh rate when I got it and shows I still have 1/4 of the battery left after 18 months of use.
To be honest, I would like to see the refresh rate changed to ever 30 seconds as my life is not that hectic that I can't wait 30 seconds and we would likely towards 3 years battery life then.

The pace of My life is currently dictated by the frequency of physio appointments, every 6 weeks so i aggree 30 seconds wouldn't be a prolem.
Otherwise a surpurb product was £64 for2 from amazon us inc import.

Edit not inc import, that was £24

Lol, in my experience it’s more todo with the low temps rather than the refresh rate up here. The batteries in the tyre pal sensors last about the same amount of time.

Having looked at the Mopeka link I note that the smallest bottle you can use it on is 11kg. Is this right? I have 2x6kg calor.

I’m not a gadget man. Always carry two bottles, when one gives up,change them. Never needed to know levels down to the last thimbleful.

No. I have it on my 2 x 6kg gasit bottles so there is nothing stopping you using them on 6kg calor

Its more for refillable bottles as these can be topped up anytime. The locations where gas is available is also shrinking so it pays to plan ahead.

Hi all,
I am looking for a device that monitors the gas level in my bottled gas. I've seen many from the Truma device with Bluetooth connecting to a smart phone (@ €130) down to the cheap as chips stick on ones at £2 or £3. I don't particularly want to spend €130 on this, but want something that works. I am seeing very mixed reviews of most. Opinions and recommendations would be most appreciated.
I have found the cheapest way to find the gas level is to pour very hot water down the side of the bottle, then feel with the palm of your hand, there is a definite change in temperature at the gas level.

I have the Mopeka system and it works well enough in letting you know the rough levels in each bottle though the batteries don't last more than 6 months for me. The Gaslow bottles have a gauge in the top and once you work out just how they record the levels they are pretty accurate. But for me the most reliable tool I have is the level gauge from Truma. It visually lets you see the levels in a gas bottle, both refillable and Calor. The only downside is you need to place the tool against the bottle. But using all three methods lets me know when I need to top up.

Truma have also released a similar product to the Mopeka system though I have no experience of this particular model

The truma is on 10% discount with the C&MC with delivery works out to £59 ish Ideal for us with 2 tanks and pretty simple.
