we stayed at the above site just outside Hay-on-Wye for 2 nights at the weekend.

Spotlessly clean, very friendly owners and great views. We drove from Oxford and through the Forest of Dean and then onto through the Black Mountains - fantastic sights and views.

The site is 2 miles from HOW but be that is as the crow flies. With a bad knee it was rather torturous ( hills.....). Never seen so many bookshops in my life..... Great afternoon tea.

But if you ever want a taxi on a Saturday afternoon in HOW forget it.... Bugger of a walk back.......

We've just had three nights at Borders Hideaway, and can thoroughly recommend it. As the previous post says, it is beautifully kept and in a lovely location.
