Just wondering where people keep their booze in the van ?

We have in floor storage and one protrudes below the floor so is always cold, which is ideal as a drinks locker. But is it legal to keep booze in the van ?

Just checking on ours as we're away for the Christmas break, and have 4 bottles single Malt, 2 bottles gin, couple bottles wine plus about 6 bottles beer.

So enough to keep us going I think.

Merry Christmas everyone :xsmile:

The only thing that shouldn't be legal is bringing them back full(y)

If it isn't then a lot of people are in trouble :)

We bought a polystyrene bottle case from Super-U when we were in France a bit like this but there was no lid

We keep bottles that are not in use in the case and in the garage, all strapped in. I don't drink alcohol (personal preference) but was really taken by many of the non-alcohol "wines" available in France. We brought a few bottles home with us as they were far more palatable than the Eisberg yuk available here.

OK so you have what we Geordies might call an "appetiser".

For a couple of weeks away when meeting up with friends we'd normally load about 20 cans of Cider, 20 cans of Brown Ale, 20 cans of Lager and 12 cans of John Smiths, then maybe a bottle of whiskey and Champagne (nice when mixed with Brown Ale) under the seat locker.

Then we'd have a couple of those mini kegs of Cider and Real ale lashed under the table. Wine we'd buy at the destination.

We reach the site, park up and lock away the keys for two weeks. Let the good times roll !!

We keep our booze in 3 supermarket wine carriers on the floor of the wardrobe and the spares in 2-3-4.... carriers in the garage. Plus a white or sparkling in fridge for immediate use.

Why would it be illegal?

Geoff

In the fridge, in the garage, under the sofa, in the wine cabinet. I never bought a tag axle for nothing. (y)

Preferably in my bladder:xThumb:

I tow one of these for the wine. The only problem is deciding whether to fill it with white or red. :)

Ah, to be sure, everyone knows red wine is heavier than white so fill the bottom half with red and the top half with white.

Under one of the seats but for some reason, (no idea why) we call it under the stairs cupboard, and we all know which one when one of us says its under the stairs.

Oh dear @BusyBuilder . Please let me know where you are parking up . But not that freeloader @DuxDeluxe . He will drink your single malt . And then get your wife very merry on his pimms. LOl

On first glance I read the word pimms, as something with similar letters, but an entirely different way of bringing merriment to women !!

We keep the spirits in a cupboard in the bedroom as it has two shelves just the right height. If the bottles are a bit loose we pad it out with some of the spare tea bags (in original packs). Beer is kept in a cold box under the bed with spares in a locker behind the drivers seat. Wine is packed in wherever there's room, with some white in the fridge. Soft drinks and mixers in an odd shaped locker behind the passenger seat.

Generally just before we leave France I will empty and purify our fresh water tank. I can then fill it with up to 120 litres of wine which I will decant when I get home the next day.
One year I mixed red and white and ended up with quite a nice Rose! Hic!

Happy Christmas to one and all.
Nik.

And day two?

We do not drink beer nor wine, but we keep a bottle of vody, scotch, and bacardy ( plus one or two oddities ) in the drinks cabinet

Never THAT far away from somewhere to get replacements so never felt the need to carry large amounts :-)
