booking sites 2023

booked ferry PLYMOUTH - Santander today, when can i book sites as 2023 dont seem to be available?

no not this year!
we are finally able to go to portugal next year so booked ferry today but looking at sites we cant seem to book for 2023 is this normal

Depends on sites.

Due to the pandemic, many sites took bookings for the summer of 2020 that were then rolled over to 2021 and then 2022.

However from what I have seen, many of those bookings were simply recorded in a diary which they then put onto 'post it' notes and moved into the following years diary and then moved again!

I guess many of the less computer literate sites are back to basics again, and only taking bookings to the end of the 2022 diary!

(We run a holiday home, we had our first booking for end of 2023, was back in the summer of 2021, so some people do book a long way ahead

Totally agree Lenny. Booking takes away the freedom.

thanks Lenny, but it is in july had to go this time due to grandchild care. havent been over on ferry for few years due to caring for parents but we are able to go next year and i would like to book sites near beaches towns ect as staying for a month.

When we we tuggers and the kids came with us in the school holidays still never booked anything.

so Lenny in your experience would you just go across on ferry and take chance of finding somewhere from 23 july - 17 august?, i just thought it would all be booked and we would be driving around endlessly looking for a site. BTW, never stayed on Aires, but they will be busy as well i suppose

I would but only been the odd time in August for 20 years and then it's been inland France.
