was looking at booking this for two weeks end November any feed back please

good bad and ugly

tony garvin Perry and Tony will probably be there around that time, we have not used the site for a few years, the site is good location is good and cycling is good, not so good for dog owners and used to be full with camping and caravan club rallies, ? and still a little far north so may be slightly cooler. ? Bob.

Perry will see this and update how it is now. ?

Parents used to stay long term for the winter, they always had a great time and met many friends and regulars. I stayed and was made welcome the owners were always helpful and the pitches fine and well equipped.
Very close to the beach and a fabulous promenade I would be happy to recommend

If there are any other parks worth going to then Im pretty flexible on where I stay
Il be arriving from the uk mid November for two weeks down in Spain then plan on leaving the motorhome in storage near Alicate airport

So anywhere within a few hours of the airport is good

Good proper aire at the Grau near Castillion??? port.
Bonterra has a good restaurant.
Now that we have the 'van, its a bit mainstream for us. Prefer Aires to sites.

We've been there many times It's our benchmark site against which we measure all others. Against all the sites in Spain we've been to (more than 20) It doesn't have the best showers, or the best restaurant, or the best pool, or the best gym, or the best sport facilities, or the best pitches, or the best entertainment but on average it beats them all and you'll probably love it as we do. Don't hesitate and have a great time.

We joined a trip to Valencia from the site and back by coach, very convenient and reasonable, worth looking on the notice board. Supermarkets very handy. We have been a few times and will very likely go again. Lovely seafront.

An alternative view, here.
We stayed there a couple of weeks back - not for us, I’m afraid. Booked in for 5 nights, left after 1. It was about 75% GB plates - we prefer a wider mix of nationalities. Obviously that’s a matter of choice, and some people would see that as a bonus. But we couldn’t wait to leave.
The weather wasn’t good, to be fair, and we were close to an oppressive boundary wall.

Why isn't it good for dog owners,,BUSBY.

We visited many years ago and were put off by the dense tree cover. Returned this year for a couple of days and found all large trees gone and replaced with young saplings. Makes it much better now for winter camping.

As mentioned, it's a bit overrun by Brits but a convenient site to explore the area.

As on all sites, we try to get off site with our dog before she does her jobs, and found quite a lot of the time you are being over watched and it seemed that other campers never liked dogs, even though we always clean up after her. ?
The only other site we got the same feeling was on marjal, it was fine for a few years, but once the regular or residents took over, being such a big site we ended up putting her in the basket on the bike, after watching a Dutch woman almost spraying someone with her hose, even though they had picked up. ? Bob.

We usually end up here even if only for 1 night. reasonably close to the beach, 2 supermarkets very close by nice walk along the prom and Via Verde for cyclists, restaurant at the front is reasonable but a bit repetetive for menu of the day, happy hour is awesome, probably why we have cut down on the lenght of time we stay ;)
We chose to go there for John to recuperate from radiotherapy as it had everything we needed close by
Little Britain? unless you have very limited choice of pitch it doesn't need to be like that, our 'Alley' this year had Brits, Dutch, French, German, Swiss, Italian and Swedish, all friendly and chatty or as chatty as you can with the languages. Each year when in Spain we say we are not going there again and each year we do.

We’ve just had a week there and are now at Villasol in Beni. We were lucky and had one of the very few pitches that were in the sun as they hadn’t cut the trees back so most of the site was very dark. Good mix of nationalitities. Restaurant seemed good. Shower blocks good. One in process of being rebuilt though so some noise from that plus a new road being built next to site.
Cycle paths good.
Mercadona opposite, Lidl 200m down road.
Close to lovely beach. Attractive promenade but dead. Two cafes along the first nearly 2 mile stretch of seafront.
We’d go again but only for a week or so.

The airfield is a wild camping spot not a site.

We've stayed @ Bonterra for many years, typical Spanish town very quiet except in January for Paella Day. The beach &'promenade are beautiful but sometimes we found we were the only ones walking along it!! We're now on Villasol with other Funsters and have decided to stay here until March giving Benicassim a miss this year Perri & Tony

I was there last year and the comments are accurate.its a lovely site especially around Xmas time but I did hear the prices have risen and not sure if they take ACSI these days. No facilities at the airport stop over so they go to empty at the castillon site which I gather the local authority is looking to put a charge because of this .

Jenka It is still taking ACSI

We tour Spain every June and always stop a week at Bonterra Park, for all the reasons above. Although I have noticed that the mix of nations seems much greater in June than people are experiencing in winter.

pagey It would be interesting to find out if they will be remaining (sorry for using the R word :) ) in the ACSI campingcard scheme next year. Please. And to be really cheeky, could you please ask for their rates for the dates immediately after ACSI stops.

Must admit watching a dog having a dump in the road outside my van would really put me off my breakfast. When I had dogs,,six of them,,we had to walk them half a mile to get to the fields and they were always that excited to be going on a long walk they never stopped to relieve themselves until we let them loose.Probably shy.BUSBY.

Funnily enough, I have stayed there but not in a Motorhome! It was before I even knew I wanted a motorhome :-) They also have bungalows etc. at Bonterra. We were there for the music festival about 3 years ago with a big group of friends.

As previously mentioned the toilets / showers are a bit tired. The restaurant was pretty good though. I seem to remember the pool attendants to have been a little over the top with rules and regulations! But a great site virtually opposite a supermarket.

Absolutely love Bennicassim though. We have been back 3 times since then. on 2 occasions, we didn't even hear an English voice the whole time we were there. Definitely not an overdeveloped Spanish resort. thankfully!

I've come to the conclusion that I would never book a campsite in Spain, without trying it first. Asking for recommendations can be fraught with difficulties. One man's meat etc. We were once directed to a campsite in Spain by our friends, who spoke very highly of the place. We arrived and had one night. It was hideous, I didn't even want to get out of the motorhome! We met a couple just last month who had booked two weeks on a site and left after one night. Unfortunately, they had booked through the Caravan Club, so they lost their money.
