Bonfire weekend (1 Viewer)

At present @ Shrewsbury Showground and Jan has vacancies for 02/11/2019 weekend Bonfire Rally. Pitch with ehu and use of room £17 pn. but a minimum of 25 vans.

We would love to do this again as we enjoyed it so much last year. But, we have no idea how to organise.

Quite happy to assist/marshall but would need an 'organiser'

OK, spoke to the showground again.

As above they will let us have a room for 25 units, if not £45 rent, so could be divided between whoever turns up. If not enough there is a lower room we could have use of but only if not being used by anyone else or on a share basis.

We plan to book in anyway for maybe just the Saturday night, possibly the Friday too so we can continue our research into some of the lovely pubs in the town.

If you plan to go then why not post on here so we can assess our options re the room or pitching up together as a group?

For anyone who doesn't know the venue, the room is on the upstairs with a balcony, from which the fireworks can be watched from a very comfortable place. The field is fairly flat and a 15 minute walk into Shrewsbury

Have spoken to Jan and she is arranging to put anyone interested in a group behind the office block and on EHU if needed. Reduced rate of £17 per night EHU. We are arriving Friday and leaving Sunday.

Mention David & Sally from MHF if you book and she'll organise a 'group'. We won't have use of the room under 25 units but hey-ho!

Jan is organising a meal in the upper room for general sale to the public.

Tables of 10 (can we get 10??- challenge!!)
For between £25 and £30 a head the costs will cover a hot meal, some wine on arrival, the room, heating, service, a cake of some sort, sparklers and the fireworks ticket. Final details to be sorted.

Jan tells me that Di & Stu are interested as maybe is Kate depending on circumstances. Sally and I are doing the meal so anyone else is welcome to join us.

Book in with Jan and please post your intentions on this thread so we know who's likely to turn up. Jan will allocate pitches behind the grandstand for Funsters - although this is not a 'rally'

£25 pp to include Tickets, Beef Goulash / Veg Goulash, potatoes or rice, selection of cakes, 2 x bottles wine per table of 10, free coffees and teas.

I'm not sure if we will be able to make it this year. It will be a last minute decision for us. But if you are interested ring Jan at the showground. She is happy to allocate a table for Funsters it's £25 per person (meal glass wine tea coffee bonfire and fireworks display + your fee for camping per night. .

It's on for the 9th but no meal. They had to cancel that and not enough interest anyway.

So, only the camping and fireworks.
