Triango Tribute 665

Hi folk, new to this forum and motor homing. Just bought a Triango Tribute 665, 2010 model. Away for my first weekend and the leisure battery died. New super duper leisure battery fitted by Halfords. Lights and water pump works but no power to boiler switch or plug sockets. Plenty of water and gas, side window shut and cowel removed. I hear a click as if it's trying to light the boiler but nothing happens. Not sure about the plug sockets but the boiler worked fine before the new battery when tested. I've had Halfords check all the cables etc to the battery and I've changed all the fuses, Incan only find a main switch at the rear of the van and I've switched this on and off. I felt as if something needs resetting, but don't know what. Any ideas guys??

Hi and welcome to the forum. ?

Is the ehu point working?
Is your ehu lead ok?
Are the breakers on in the 240v fuse board.

Are you even plugged in to a hook up point, if not your sockets will not work.

As above.....3 pin sockets are 230v mains and your boiler is gas and/or 230v mains.
Neither will run on 12v leisure battery.
If you are on hookup the breaker may have tripped.

Hi boiler is gas only and was working off EHU prior to replacement of new battery

not plugged in to EHU but the boiler should work as it did prior to new battery...

at home, new EHU cable worked find on Friday prior to going away. What are the breakers of the240 fuse board? I have replaced all fuses

a blown fuse or damaged or disconnected wire by the battery possibly

As it's clicking the battery connection/fuse is OK. its trying to ignite so there's really only gas faults stopping it working.....
No gas.....run out, turned off or faulty gas valve on boiler.
Blocked jet in the burner....soot or debris fallen from flue.
Gas needs purging.....could take some time for gas to come through to jet.

As above, are the gas hobs working on the cooker?

Check your Gas connector, do you have a small fitting just after the conection to the cylinder?, IF so press the button (possibly more that once). It is a shut-off valve and needs reseting after a bottle change etc:, but they have been known to trip!. (say`s the guy who spent a lot of time chasing a "no gas" situation in an earlier life) Doh!!!!.

I recently had a call to find why, after Halfords fitted two new batteries, the fridge no longer worked off gas
Only took a few seconds to suss out the Halfords 'technician' had for some reason turned off the gas tap supplying the fridge. It was the last gas tap in a bank of three so maybe he thought it turned off all the internal gas supply..... I have no idea !

But it is worth looking at your gas taps ( usually again three of them in a gang ) and making sure they are all turned on.. Gas taps are usually:
1 for cooker
1 for fridge
1 for boiler

And just to clarify, the mains supply 240v sockets will only work if on hook up.............. Unless you have an inverter and Mr Halford never reconnected it when he connected up the new battery !

I guess we are never gonna know if this was resolved or not
