Is this a problem ? It’s the rear end of a Hymer to the right of the garage...Plus another bit off bodywork damage. Is it repairable at reasonable cost or is it a something which will get worse and therefore not worth buying the MH ?

Unless you can look underneath the damaged areas, walk away.
The crumpled part may of been straightened, has it all been re sealed on joints etc, and the crack may well get larger.
Unless it is at at a stupendously low price not worth considering.

The repair does not look very well done and as said above unless you can see underneath the damaged area i would walk away

Agree, looks like a bodged repair carried out badly and probably not at all where you can't see.
Make sure you get a sizable discount to have it re-done

As other guys have stated...walk away. The problem will lie underneath the poor repair. Deep pockets come to mind!!

I would ask the seller to advise what happened to the rear end. Looks like a bodge job, but if damage only slight and price is right then maybe consider it otherwise you need a big discount and think your looking at 5k at least. Which may cover a cosmetic repair.

The crack in the aluminium I would think would be very difficult to repair., really needs welding but that can't be done because of the PU insulation is bonded to the panel. The bodged sealant down the joint capping strip looks very dodgy I think you will find damp inside the van due to damage and poor repair.
Run away, don't even consider it.

It can’t be repaired unless a new side is fitted as others have said walk away plenty of other vans out there.

Blimey...thanks all....pity as it was my perfect layout with rear longitudinal beds and a filler to make up a large double instead of the usual transverse bed. Plus a large garage. ☹️

I was a bit wary of the mileage 172,000KM on a Fiat 2.8JTD but it seems the bodywork is more of an issue.

Cheap(ish) though ☹️ The next one up of the same van was £9K more and didn’t have a drop down, 3 years older 2004....only 62,000 Km though.

On I go with my search ☹️
