Hi guys I posted a few weeks ago that I had crunched the front of my MH. The repairer is not 100% sure he will be able to source the parts. A minimum of slam panel, cross member, bumper and matching wheel trims, bonnet and probably head lamp housing and head lamps. Now if they can't get them am wondering to buy it back and source 2nd hand parts so what are my chances??

Current value probably £15k. I'm surprised the insurance co haven't already written it off.

Chris at Reliance previously worked at a dealership who sold Hymer, so should be able to offer advice.

Biggest problem will be sourcing bodyparts as the "Classic" in that format was discontinued about 2004. Finding a donor vehicle at a scrap yard in UK is likely to be as difficult as searching for hen's teeth You might have...

I had a 2002 B544 Classic from new (same as OP). Great MH, only sold it cos needed more payload.

Think the headlights and side lights are bog standard Fiat Ducato. I guess the subframe is also Fiat. Bonnet and bumper is obviously Hymer.

Current value probably £15k. I'm surprised the insurance co haven't already written it off.

Finding a donor vehicle at a scrap yard in UK is likely to be as difficult as searching for hen's teeth  You might have slightly better luck in Germany but that is thawt with logistical problems.

Another solution might be to use the front bodywork from the more popular B544 or updated B544 Classic. OK, the front will look different but at least you'll have a wider range to choose from.

Is the new B544 with the round headlights. I would think the market value is higher than 15k having looked on many websites?

The more expensive B544 (double floor with ALCO chassis) had round headlights as did the 2004 onwards B544 Classic.

I sold my 2002 B544 Classic, 9 years ago for £21k. Taking into account depreciation over 9 years, I reckon £15k is a realistic valuation in normal times. But, all resale prices have been over-inflated since covid.
