We've got a Hymer B564 and are struggling in some campsites due to our low ground clearance under the front valance ... most problematic when using CL-sites with Caravan & Motorhome Club. After looking at other m/h's we notice that most other A-Class types seem to have a low clearance.... Why is this and does anyone else have issues?
The reason for asking is that we are hoping to buy a younger m/h with the same internal configuration (although this seems impossible to find!) and wounder if we need to broaden the search to Coach-built (non-A-class).
Thanks

It's an age thing ... my ground clearance, front and rear, has been getting less every year. :whistle2:

Sorry, not much help for you but bumped your post up the page.

Ive often thought that the front shocks are losing the will to live... or its just middle-age sag!

Thanks all

Solution
Our Pilote was low at the front so we had some heavier duty springs on the front to cope with the heavier front axle load👍

Not sure what is low as we have i414 and have had no issues with ground clearance on any of the CL sites we’ve visited. Ours is a class on Fiat, not sure if that makes a difference!

I have a 2003 B544 A class which suffered from the common front end sag. I never caught mine on anything but have heard others do.
Whilst having a poke around underneath last year I spotted a weeping shock absorber.
Decided to take the opportunity to have uprated springs, new shocks and top mounts.
It lifted the front by about 5 or 6 cm and made for a much better ride.

Most of the newer Hymers will have been bought with the Komfort Pack which includes uprated front springs which raises the front 50mm.
Also you could fit full air suspension you can then raise it to the off road position for lumpy fields.
