Hymer BMLi 890
Hi - electric front blind only works intermittently on new 890. Dealer scratching their heads. Seems it could be some electrical interlock with mbux or ignition? After driving it will work, on a campsite pitch at night it won’t function at all. Anyone had any similar experience?

:welco:
Sorry not much help mines worked fine for 5 years.
I think there is a control box for it that is swtiched by the D+ from the alternator as the blind can't be operated with the engine running.
Surprised the dealer has not changed it.

Thanks - seems there is a complicated interlock at play somewhere. The blind seems to get locked out by the ignition systems interface with the levelling system… to operate the levelling system once parked, the ignition needs to be in position two - not switched off, but no engine running either. After the jacks are deployed we seem to get a lockout on the blind - to clear that then seems to need an engine start, but you can’t start the engine with the jacks down … so we go on in that circle of gloom!
If only these vehicles didn’t have quite so much wizardry.
Anyone having software troubles with the new Hymer smart panel ?
We’ve needed one reboot already .. 😕 seems the workshops are feeling a tsunami on this one .. 🙄

We have a B890 built in August 2021 which doesn’t have the new smart panel so can’t help there.

Interesting what you mentioned about the levelling. Do you have the factory fitted Goldscmitt system? If so we were told to level we should keep the engine running and switch in the hazard warning lights whilst in operation.

We have not had any issues (so far) with the electric front blind but we do get a kind of static pop sound when parked up through the speakers and the radio is intermittent whilst driving…not a major issue but needs sorting.
